Crowley Christens New ATB Tank Vessel
Crowley Maritime Corporation christened the seventh of 10 new 185,000-barrel Articulated Tug-Barge (ATB) tank vessels that the company will take delivery of in 2010 and 2011. The vessels christened were the tug Pride and barge 650-7. During the ceremonies, which took place at the Port of New Orleans, Cruise terminal #2, Susan Rodgers, Crowley senior vice president of corporate services christened the 10,728 Hp-tug Pride, while Rita McKain, wife of Bradley McKain, manager, terminal, transport and marine for Marathon Petroleum Company, christened the barge 650-7.
Crowley Expands Scholarship Program
Crowley Maritime Corporation will enhance its scholarship grants with the Maritime Studies Program of Williams College and Mystic Seaport beginning in fall 2009. The company has pledged to increase its donation from $10,000 to $20,000 a year for deserving and need-based students in the program. The increase in funding will allow two students each semester, or four students each year to benefit from the Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship Program. "The Thomas B. Crowley Promotes Miller
Crowley Maritime Corporation announced today that Mark Miller has been promoted to director of corporate communications with responsibility for internal communications, media relations, advertising and marketing communications for the corporation and its subsidiaries and business units operating around the world. Miller joined Crowley in April 1995 as manager of public relations and advertising for the corporation’s Jacksonville-based container shipping subsidiary, Crowley Liner Services. In April 2000, he was promoted to manager of corporate communications with similar job responsibilities but supporting all of Crowley’s business units. As director, miller will remain in Jacksonville and continue to report to Susan Rodgers, Crowley’s vice president of human resources.

Jones Joins Crowley as VP
Gary Jones has joined Crowley as vice president of information technology (IT). In his new position, Jones is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning, production, deployment and maintenance of enterprise-wide technology solutions. Additionally, Jones directs the development of application and infrastructure strategies and standards, policies and procedures, quality, cost control and customer service standards. He manages a staff of approximately 100 technology professionals from his office in Jacksonville and reports to Susan Rodgers, senior vice president, administration. Jones brings over 20 years of accomplishments in the IT field to Crowley from the consumer and financial sectors.
