Cohen Retires from ExxonMobil, McCarron to Takeover

Ken Cohen, vice president, Public and Government Affairs, Exxon Mobil Corporation, has announced his intention to retire effective Jan. 1, 2016, after more than 38 years of service. It is anticipated that the board of directors will elect Suzanne McCarron as vice president, Public and Government Affairs, Exxon Mobil Corporation. McCarron is currently general manager, Public and Government Affairs, and president, ExxonMobil Foundation, the primary philanthropic arm of the Exxon Mobil Corporation in the United States. The ExxonMobil Foundation is focused on creating economic opportunities for women, support for math and science education and efforts to combat malaria.

150 Attend Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy

Today, ExxonMobil announced 155 third- through fifth-grade teachers from across the United States have been selected to attend the national 2015 Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy. The program is a week-long, all-expense-paid, professional development program for third- through fifth-grade teachers that equips them with innovative ways to teach science and math and inspire their students in these critical subjects. In 2005, ExxonMobil partnered with PGA Golfer Phil Mickelson, and his wife, Amy, to launch the Academy. Today, more than 4,500 teachers have been trained on effective math and science teaching techniques, impacting more than 300,000 students nationwide. “Amy and I understand firsthand the influence teachers have on students,” Phil Mickelson said.

ExxonMobil Encouraging Girls into Engineering

ExxonMobil is encouraging girls to consider science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers through the '12th-annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day program' to be held at 14 ExxonMobil and XTO Energy sites nationwide over the next several months. Building on the success of ExxonMobil’s recent ‘Be An Engineer’ efforts, more than 2,000 middle-school girls across the country will take part. Participants will have the opportunity to work with ExxonMobil employees who will serve as mentors, providing students with role models and helping to sharpen their STEM skills. ExxonMobil Foundation Funds Summer Jobs Program

The ExxonMobil Foundation today identified the 30 Dallas County nonprofit agencies that will receive grants through the 2015 ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program, now in its 25th year in Dallas. The eight-week summer program provides assistance to nonprofit agencies and enables college students to gain valuable work experience and a better understanding of the important role of nonprofit organizations. “Nonprofit agencies provide vital community services, especially during the summer when children are out of school,” said Suzanne McCarron, president of the ExxonMobil Foundation. Paid internship positions engage students in a broad range of activities, such as coordinating camp programs for underprivileged children and developing marketing campaigns.

ExxonMobil Marks World Malaria Day With $10 Mln Grant

ExxonMobil has been committed to fighting malaria for more than a decade, and has provided more than $120 million to programs that are helping more than 105 million people.
