Ferus Smit Launches Symphony Spirit

On Friday, August 25, shipbuilder Ferus Smit launched newbuild 421, Symphony Spirit, in Leer. The 122.5-meter, 10,500 dwt Symphony Spirit is the fifth vessel in a series of six that will be delivered to Symphony Shipping. The vessel is an ‘Ecobox’ design, which Ferus Smit says is characterized by flexibility of loading combined with very economical and ecological performance. 10,500 DWT, 429.000 cft hold volume. Iceclass 1A with 3,000 kW main engine. A large single hold of completely box shaped form. Large loading floor area for project cargoes, including complete movable tweendeck. 2 X 85 tons cargo cranes. Deckhouse placed on foreship for better protection of deck cargo and enabling to load oversized items over the stern.

Nb. 434 to be christened ‘Symphony Provider

On Thursday the 9th of March, 11.00 hrs Nb. 434 will be christened as ‘Symphony Provider’. She is the second in a series of two ECOBOX DP2 vessels that will be delivered to Symphony Shipping. As add-on compared to the already delivered ECOBOX design, these ships are equipped with a DP2 (Dynamic Positioning) system which keeps the vessel within an exact position or heading limits, even in the most severe wind and wave conditions. Main dimensions (Loa X B X T) 125 X 18.0 X 7.8 mtr. Propulsion system for DP2 operation with abt. ERN=92 performance. Consisting of 2 ducted azimuthing thrusters aft, and 3 bowthrusters forward. Driven by 3 main engines of aggregate 7400 kW output in combined diesel-direct and diesel-electric configuration. 10500 DWT, 429.000 cft hold volume.

Symphony Sun’ Launched in Leer

On Friday the 29th of April, Nb. 420 was launched in Leer. She was christened ‘Symphony Sun’ and is the fourth vessel in a series of 6 that will be delivered to Symphony Shipping. ‘Nordana Sea’ Delivered to Symphony Shipping

After successful sea trials, Dutch shipbuilder Ferus Smit delivered a 10,550 dwt multi-purpose cargo carrier M.V. Nordana Sea to Symphony Shipping on February 11th 2016. Being the third unit in a series of 6 newbuilds Ferus Smit’s DP2 Ecobox design, departed on her maiden voyage in ballast to Esbjerg, where she will pick up large windmill components to be delivered in Greece. Nordana Sea Delivered to Symphony Shipping

After successful sea trials, M.V. Nordana Sea was delivered to Symphony Shipping on February 11, 2016. Constructed by builder Ferus-Smit in the Netherlands (yard number 419), Nordana Sea is the third unit in a series of six newbuilds of the yard’s Ecobox design. The ship has now left the river Ems on her maiden voyage in ballast to Esbjerg, where she will pick up large windmill components to be delivered in Greece. According to the shipbuilder, the Ecobox design is characterized by its flexibility of loading combined with very economical and ecological performance.

Ferus Smit to Launch Nordan Star

Ferus Smit informs it will launch Nb. 418 Nordana Star for Symphony Shipping on Friday, July 3, at its shipyard in Leer, Germany. Nordana Star is the second vessel in a series of six to be delivered to Symphony Shipping. As her name reveals, the ship will be chartered out to the Danish company Nordana and sail in her fleet after delivery. Nordana Star is of Ferus Smit’s Ecobox general/project cargo ship design, which is characterized by its flexibility of loading combined with very economical and ecological performance.

First Ecobox Nordana Sky in Operation

MV Nordana Sky was delivered to Symphony Shipping on March 26 after the vessel completed sea trials, the builder Ferus Smit announced. Nordana Sky is the first vessel in a series of six ships in the new ECOBOX general/project cargo ship design. It features a single large boxshaped hold of 429,000 cft that can be optionally sailed ‘open top’ without maindeck hatches. Her hull caries 10550 DWT at main dimensions (Loa X B X T) 122.5 X 17.0 X 7.8 mtr. The deckhouse is placed on the foreship to optimally protect the cargo. Cargo handling can be done with the ships own 50/85 tons double cranes.

Ferus Smit launched multipurpose vessel Nordana Sky in Leer on February 21. Nordana Sky, built as yard number 417, is the first in a series of six that will be delivered to Symphony Shipping. The ship will be chartered out to the Danish company Nordana and sail in her fleet after delivery, planned for the end of March 2015. Nordana Sky is the first vessel of the builder’s new ecobox design, characterized by its flexibility of loading combined with very economical and ecological performance.

Ferus Smit announced it will launch Newbuuld 417 on Saturday, February 21 in Leer. Newbuild 417, a multipurpose vessel to be christened Nordana Sky, is the first vessel in a series of six that will be delivered to Symphony Shipping. The ship will be chartered out to the Danish company Nordana and sail in her fleet after delivery. Nordana Sky is the first vessel of Ferus Smit’s new ecobox design, which is characterized by its flexibility of loading combined with very economical and ecological performance, the builder said.

Symphony Orders DP2 Offshore Ships from Ferus Smit

Ferus Smit has received an order from Symphony Shipping to build and deliver two DP2 offshore dedicated versions, with two options, of the new ECOBOX design. The two ships are in addition to the six ECOBOX-MPVs presently being built by Ferus Smit for the same client. The new design is based on the existing ECOBOX concept and, thanks to a DP2 dynamic positioning notation, can also be used as a large capacity and long range offshore supply vessel.
