Canada and UAE First to Back Maritime Green Fuel Initiative

Prysmian Group Wins MidEast Submarine Cable Contract

Prysmian Group entered into a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) for the supply of power cables in the context of a landmark  HVDC submarine cable project in the Middle East, worth around $252m. The LNTP was awarded to Prysmian by Samsung C&T as part of its EPC consortium with Jan De Nul Group. Five PSV Charters for Solstad Offshore in UK

Norway-based offshore support vessel operator Solstad Offshore has secured contracts and extensions for five of its platform supply vessels in the UK Sector of the North Sea.The longest term charters of the five have been awarded to Solstad Offshore by its Equnior's UK subsidiary Equinor UK Limited. Equinor has extended contracts for the platform supply vessels Sea Frost and Normand Skipper."Both vessels have been supporting Equinor's operations since July 2017 and January 2019 respectively.

Petrogas Extends Maersk Resolute Contract

Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. has exercised an option with Danish driller Maersk Drilling to extend the current contract of jack-up rig Maersk Resolute in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.The contract extension is for one well, A15 on the Dutch continental shelf, with an expected duration of 21 days.The exercised option extends Maersk Resolute’s confirmed work scope into March 2019.The high-efficiency jack-up Maersk Resolute, which was launched in 2008, re-started operations in the Dutch sector in June 2018, after it was originally reactivated from warm-stacking and worked in the sector from June to December 2017.Maersk Resolute is currently on a rig-share contract between Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V., TAQA Energy B.V.

Maersk Drilling Bags North Sea Contracts

Solstad Farstad Bags New Contracts

TAQA Bratani has awarded Solstad Farstad ASA a contract for the Platform Supply Vessel PSV Far Spica (2013, PSV 08 CD Design). The contract is the duration of TAQA’s mobile drilling Campaign in the UK Sector, which is approx. 18 Months,   with expected commencement in Q1 2018. Far Spica is currently trading the North Sea Spot Market. AGR Well Management Limited has awarded SOFF a contract for the PSV Normand Aurora (2005, P105 Design). The contract duration is for 1 well firm + 1 well options supporting West Hercules in the UK Sector and the commencement is expected to take place March 2018. The firm period has an estimated duration of 75 days. Normand Aurora is currently trading the North Sea Spot Market.

Taqa Extends Wood Group Contract

Wood Group has secured a two-year contract extension with TAQA in the North Sea. Wood Group PSN, will continue to provide engineering, construction and maintenance services to five offshore assets - Cormorant Alpha, North Cormorant, Eider, Tern and Harding – extending an agreement in place since 2008. The value of the deal extension has not been disclosed. The two-year contract, effective immediately, also includes options for three, one year extensions. DONG Energy Appoints CEO for E&P

Søren Gath Hansen will step down as Group Executive Vice President and CEO for E&P. His successor is David B. Cook who comes from a position as Executive Officer and Head of Oil & Gas at the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, TAQA. Søren Gath Hansen will continue in DONG Energy as head of the group's Quality, Health, Safety and Environment activities (QHSE). Harkand Charters ROV Support Vessel in North Sea

Harkand  has extended its ROV support vessel fleet operations in the North Sea by signing a charter agreement for the Surf Ranger. The multipurpose ROV, survey and air diving vessel, owned by Go Offshore, will be deployed immediately on its first scope of work, a pipeline and structural inspection campaign for TAQA’s U.K. business. Oil Firms Opt for Stability, Urge Scotland to Stay in UK

Reuters - Royal Dutch Shell has become the second energy heavyweight to urge Scotland to stay in the United Kingdom as the campaign for Scottish independence battles mounting opposition from businesses. Shell is a key player in the North Sea oil and gas fields off Scotland and its Chief Executive Ben van Beurden said a vote for independence on Sept. 18 would mean greater uncertainty for the energy industry. Last month, the boss of BP warned Scottish independence could cause "uncertainties" for his company. Other oil companies in the North Sea on Thursday stressed the importance of predictability for their operations, joining a growing number of financial services companies voicing concerns about the impact of independence but avoiding political comment.

Accident Prompts TAQA to Shut Down UK North Sea Platform

The 12,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Harding oil platform in the UK North Sea is being shut down as a precaution after a worker fell off and died early on Thursday, a spokesman for operator TAQA said. "Production is being shut down," the spokesman for the Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (TAQA) said. "It is what we feel is the appropriate response to the tragic loss of life and the effect it has had on our colleagues on the platform."

Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy for the United Arad Emirates will open the OPITO Safety and Competency Conference – OSCC 2013 – which takes place in the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel, Abu Dhabi on November 19, 2013. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen Section has announced that entries are now open for the 2014 Offshore Achievement Awards. The awards, which are hosted by SPE Aberdeen with the support of principal sponsor TAQA, have recognized outstanding success and innovation in the oil and gas sector for over 27 years. Last year’s awards ceremony attracted a record attendance of more than 530 industry professionals. The offshore industry’s highest achievers were recognized at the 2013 Offshore Achievement Awards, with Malcolm Webb, chief executive of Oil & Gas UK, picking up the Significant Achievement accolade. North Sea Platform Leak: Crew Evacuated

TAQA, the global energy company based in Abu Dhabi, confirms a hydrocarbon release detected in one of the Cormorant Alplha platform legs. The hydrocarbons were discovered at 09.40 hours local UK time on Saturday, 2, March during maintenance work. The platform and all pipeline infrastructure were shut down as a precaution and the company removed 71 non-essential personnel from the platform via crew change flights, reporting everyone safe and well. First Steel Cut for Liftboat ‘Seajacks Hydra’

A ceremony marked the event at Lamprell’s Hamriyah Dubai facility. The self-elevating, ‘Seajacks Hydra’ has been specifically designed for installation and maintenance services in the offshore wind and oil and gas sectors. The vessel will be equipped with a high speed jacking system, a 400t crane and able to operate in water depths up to 48m. Lamprell Energy has built all three of Seajacks’ current vessels; ‘Kraken’, ‘Leviathan’ and ‘Zaratan’, delivering each on time and on budget.
