Taylor Made Environmental Opens New U.K. Facility

facility in Poole to provide sales and technical support throughout Europe for the company's marine air conditioning, refrigeration and battery charger product lines. According to Trevor Goldsmith, managing director of Taylor Made Environmental, Europe, Ltd, the new facility includes a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse, which is being stocked with over $1.7 million in inventory,and 2,000 sq. ft. of office space. There are also three fully operational workshops for repair and refurbishment of equipment. The new facility is being staffed by 16 employees, including five field engineers and other sales, service and administrative personnel. Goldsmith stated that Taylor Made Environmental will be able to provide 24-hour deliveries from stock anywhere in Europe for most popular items.

Taylor Made Appoints New Sales Director

Taylor Made Environmental has elected Ned Trigg to the position of international and domestic OEM sales director. Trigg will be responsible for all aspects of sales operations, including assigning OEM territories, OEM relations and coordinating requirements between sales and production, applications and engineering. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1987, Trigg joined Marine Development Corporation (MDC) as an applications engineer. Two years later, he became an OEM sales manager and called on key domestic accounts for over 10 years. In 1997 he was given the added responsibility of Southeast Asia.

Taylor Made Debuts New Series of Air Conditions

Taylor Made Environmental has announced a family of redesigned compact, lightweight, high-efficiency marine air conditioning systems. The new self-contained seawater-cooled units are being sold under the Cruisair and Marine Air Systems brand names. Available in 5,000, 7,000, 10,000, 12,000 and 16,000 BTU capacities, the systems have been re-engineered with new compressors and evaporator coils, resulting in smaller size, lower weight, reduced amperage draw and improved reliability. According to Frank Marciano, president of Taylor Made Environmental, the new-design packaging applies to Marine Air Systems patented Vector Compact and Cool Mate series products, and Cruisair StowAway Compact (SXF) and Zephyr models.

Taylor Made to Supply for Swiftships Vessel

Taylor Made Environmental has been chosen to supply the air conditioning system for a new 110 ft. vessel being built by Swiftships in Morgan City, La. The vessel is being built for the National Park Service for operation in the Florida Keys, and is being fitted with an extra high capacity air conditioning system for the tropical climate. Taylor Made Environmental is supplying a 15-ton Marine Air Systems reverse-cycle modular 3-stage chiller with Hydromatic controls and 11 air handling units totaling 177,000 BTUs. The scope of work includes extensive custom design, applications engineering and technical support. The system will be delivered to Swiftships in December 2003.
