New WSS Asia VP Talks of Challenging Market at Marintec
Regional Vice President Asia Pacific, Neal De Roche says Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) remains focussed on providing innovative solutions to client needs. Speaking as he takes up his new role in Singapore, following five years in Shanghai, De Roche says the recent recovery of some shipping segments should not be taken as a sign of a return to a simple âbusiness as usualâ scenario. âIt has been struggle over the last few years. We are still in a challenging market and Asia is no exception. Despite perceptions to the contrary, China is a quality not a quantity market,â he says.
Stork Technical Services Wins Safety Award
Stork Technical Services won the âAssociate Memberâ prize at this yearâs IADC North Sea Chapter (NSC) Annual Safety Awards. The award recognises an Associate membersâ safety achievements over the past year which can include launching schemes to improve safety performance, technical or operational innovations which reduce risk or any notable safety achievements. The presentation, in front of more than 400 industry leaders and guests, was made by Jon L Richards, Chairman IADC North Sea Chapter, at the ceremony on 11 May at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
