Kongsberg Sells HUGIN AUV System to NIOT

Norwegian technology enterprise Kongsberg Maritime announced that contracts have been signed for the sale of a HUGIN AUV System to the Indian National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), located in Chennai, India.According to a statement from Kongsberg Maritime India, the HUGIN AUV System ordered by NIOT is rated to a depth of 6,000 metres and will be equipped with a Kongsberg HISAS 1032 synthetic aperture sonar and EM2040 multibeam echosounder, designed for hydrographic and seabed classification applications.It will also carry a high-resolution colour still image camera, plus a range of environmental sensors for oceanographic surveys, including a magnetometer.

Kongsberg Revenue Up in Challenging Maritime

Norwegian technology enterprise Kongsberg Maritime announced that it increased operating revenue to NOK 5,490m (USD 593mln) from NOK 2,041m (USD 220mln) in the fourth quarter.Growth excluding acquired business is 21%, said a press release from the Kongsberg Gruppen (KOG) company. This is among other things driven by a high level of activity in the LNG and after-sales markets as well as by growth in the Sensors & Robotics area. "Our maritime operations are growing in a market where the newbuilding activity is at an all-time low, at the same time as the organisation is integrating Commercial Marine and achieving considerable cost savings. I'm very pleased about this," said Geir Håøy, President and CEO of Kongsberg.Order intake of NOK 6,934m compared to NOK 3,859m in Q4 2018.

Kongsberg Maritime Shuts Down KM Contros

Kongsberg Maritime (KM), a Norwegian technology enterprise within the Kongsberg Gruppen, informed that it has suspended the sale of the previously announced German KM Contros GmbH to AML Oceanographic Ltd. (AML).Following a strategic evaluation and prioritization of the KM business in 2019, the company decided to divest Contros, and a Letter of Intent was signed with a future buyer of the business.However, the companies have now agreed not to pursue the previously announced letter of intent, and the sale of Contros will therefore not proceed. Consequently, Kongsberg Maritime has decided to cease the Contros operations, a press release said.Contros is a subdivision of the Sensors & Robotics division in KM, it’s located in Kiel/Hamburg, Germany.

Kongsberg Sells KM Contros to AML

Norwegian technology enterprise Kongsberg Maritime (KM) has decided to divest KM Contros GmbH (Contros) to AML Oceanographic Ltd. (AML).Contros has 20 employees and is a subdivision of the Sensors & Robotics division of KM. The company is located in Kiel / Hamburg, Germany.Contros has two primary lines of business: Sensors that measure dissolved gases in water and platforms and deployment systems for in-situ oceanographic measurement.KM believes AML will be an excellent owner for Contros. BWMS with Automatic Filter Receives USCG Certificate

Technology enterprise Boll & Kirch said one of its product innovations, the Bollfilter Automatic Type 6.18.3, recently helped SunRui Marine Environment Engineering, based in Qingdao, China, qualify for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) certificate. Since the beginning of 2016, ballast water management systems (BWMS) of ships discharging ballast water at American ports have had to comply with special USCG regulations. SunRui's BalClor BWMS system, which relies on Boll & Kirch's innovative ballast water filtration technology, has now been certified by the authority.

Kongsberg Maritime Report Strong Growth in Q2 2013

Kongsberg is reporting operating revenues in the second quarter of 2013 of MNOK 4 097, up 4.2 per cent year-on-year. EBITDA came to MNOK 513 in Q2, compared with MNOK 525 in Q2 2012. At mid-year, operating revenues totalled MNOK 8 130, translating into growth of 4.7 per cent from mid-year 2012. The expansion in H1 has been driven by Kongsberg Maritime, which posted growth of 13.9 per cent compared with H1 2012, and is continuing to report a significant influx of new orders. Altogether during the quarter, Kongsberg Maritime signed new orders valued at MNOK 2 431.

KOGT Signs Deal with Offshore Installation

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT) signed an agreement to supply a flexible risers and umbilicals installation system for the ‘Capstan Reel Installation System’ (CRIS), to the Offshore Installation Group (OIG). The patented CRIS design simplifies the subsea installation process, enabling a reduction in installation time and risk, which translates to significant cost savings. The CRIS is a sophisticated new product that will address the risk, safety and cost factors of offshore installations as production moves to deeper waters, further offshore.

Kongsberg Concludes Acquisition of Evotec AS

Acquisition completes following July 4th announced agreement in principle. Evotec AS develops and delivers technological management systems for the seismic, subsea and supply markets, among others. Kongsberg Maritime has acquired the Draper, based technology enterprise Global Sim for approximately $19.6m. Global Sim delivers products and services in the field of crane simulation for the training of crane operators around the world, and holds a market leader position in maritime crane simulation. The acquisition extends Kongsberg Maritime's portfolio and will further strengthen the company's position as a leader within the field of Maritime Simulation and Training. Northrop Grumman Receives Prestigious Award

Northrop Grumman received the 2003 Frost & Sullivan Technology Leadership Award for Homeland Security and Homeland Defense in recognition of its roles in the Integrated Deepwater System program, and in the Immigration and Naturalization Service's (INS) Technology Enterprise Automation Management Support (TEAMS) program.
