AMSEC LLC Wins U.S. Navy Task Order

Huntington Ingalls Industries said its AMSEC LLC subsidiary won a task order under a previously awarded contract to provide engineering and technical services to support efforts to improve U.S. Navy shipboard technical data environments. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) task order contains a base period with two, one-year option periods which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to approximately $4.9m. SeaPort-e is the Navy's electronic platform for acquiring support services in 22 functional areas, including engineering, financial management and program management.

AAPA Announces New Seminar Series

AAPA is finalizing programs and securing industry experts for both the Port Administration Seminar and the Information Technology Seminar. These two important disciplines will be covered thoroughly as independent seminars, coming together for two sessions, one on eCommerce and another on Electronic Policy. These two groups will also come together for continental breakfasts, breaks and lunches. USN Awards 391 Contractors

The U.S. Navy is awarding indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts to 391 contractors that will provide for their competition for service requirements solicited by Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Strategic Systems Programs, and the United States Marine Corps. The 22 functional service areas within the scope of the contracts include 1. Research and Development Support. 2. Engineering System Engineering and Process Engineering Support. 3. Modeling, Simulation, Stimulation, and Analysis Support. 4. Prototyping, Pre-Production, Model-Making, and Fabrication Support.

Jones Joins Crowley as VP

Gary Jones has joined Crowley as vice president of information technology (IT). In his new position, Jones is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning, production, deployment and maintenance of enterprise-wide technology solutions. Additionally, Jones directs the development of application and infrastructure strategies and standards, policies and procedures, quality, cost control and customer service standards. He manages a staff of approximately 100 technology professionals from his office in Jacksonville and reports to Susan Rodgers, senior vice president, administration. Jones brings over 20 years of accomplishments in the IT field to Crowley from the consumer and financial sectors.
