STATS Group Complete Dutch Sector North Sea Isolation Project
Pipeline engineering specialist, STATS Group, has completed an isolation project on a 16” subsea pipeline in the Dutch sector of the North Sea on behalf of Wintershall Noordzee BV. The isolation enabled the client to disconnect a flexible gas export pipeline so it could be replaced with a new rigid gas export pipeline. STATS deployed its Tecno Plug tool for the isolation which prevented a costly depressurisation of the main trunk line, and reduced environmental impact, costs and production losses.
Troll A Tie In Success for Pipeline Specialist STATS Group
Specialist engineering company, STATS Group, has completed an 18 month design, manufacturing and installation project to enable the tie-in of a fifth pipeline on Statoil’s Troll A Platform. Statoil’s Troll A platform, located off the west coast of Norway, utilises a system of seal tubes to tie-in risers which are run down the inside of a dry concrete leg. The seal tubes were concreted in place at the base of the riser leg on the gravity base structure in 1991. There are seven seal tubes – four designed for large bore pipe up to 36” - and three designed for smaller diameter pipe up to 20”.
STATS Completes North Sea Platform Platform
Pipeline engineering experts, STATS Group, has completed an isolation project on behalf of AMEC to allow maintenance and replacement works on the North Everest platform in the central North Sea. The workscope covered three maintenance valves and one ESD valve on a 20-inch gas import line onboard the BG-operated platform. After a detailed site survey and piggability study, STATS decided the best solution was to use a tethered Tecno Plug pushed by stem bar to location from a temporary launcher.
