Teknotherm Marine to Deliver HVAC for Østensjø's Newbuilds

Norwegian company Teknotherm Marine will provide the Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning (HVAC) and Refrigeration systems for four offshore wind vessels currently being built in Spain.The vessels, to be built by Spanish shipyards Gondán Shipbuilders and Balenciaga Shipyard, have been ordered by owner Edda Wind/Østensjø Rederi. Gondán Shipbuildershas started construction of two 88m CSOVs (Commissioning Service Operation Vessels) for up to 120 persons. The first CSOV is expected for delivery in the first quarter of 2022 and will be chartered by Ocean Breeze for a period of 11 years.

Teknotherm Marine Moves HVAC Arm to Bergen

Maritime heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) firm Teknotherm Marine has established a new subsidiary is established with the name Teknotherm Marine HVAC AS. The company, already up and running from the main office in Halden, will move to and be operating in Bergen from the second quarter this year. Combined with the Teknotherm refrigeration competence and Heinen & Hopman’s worldwide presence and network, the company is aims to be a strong partner nationally and worldwide for designers, yards and owners. “As Norwegian shipyards, designers and owners are world-leading for several types of vessels, we see Bergen as an important strategic base for the new activities,” explained Managing Director, Jon Aksel Brynildsen.

Teknotherm Takes Over Unitor HVAC Business

Unitor Ships Equipment (now part of Wilhelmsen Maritime Services) has reached agreement with Teknotherm AS to transfer its activities in the marine heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) market to Teknotherm AS. The transfer includes HVAC products, a group of engineers in Poland as well as Unitor’s order backlog of HVAC systems. Teknotherm will represent a continuation of Unitor’s HVAC activities with respect to technical solutions, market contacts as well as after-sales and service capabilities. Teknotherm AS was founded in 1926 and has grown to be a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of marine refrigeration systems. Their growth within the HVAC segment has been significant, and taking over Unitor’s HVAC activities represents a further strengthening of this development.
