Eqva to Sell Havyard Leirvik Yard in Norway to Turkish Buyer

Eqva, an owner of industrial service companies, said Monday it would divest Havyard Leirvik Yard in Norway to a Turkish buyer.“The sale of Havyard Leirvik will free up important resources, both human and financial, enabling a concentrated focus on further development of Eqva’s current industrial portfolio, and look for new investment opportunities,” said Even Matre Ellingsen, Chair of the Board of Eqva. Havyard Leirvik is being sold to Tersan Shipyard, a Turkish-based shipbuilder.

Ulstein to Design Two More Offshore Wind Vessels for Acta Marine

Ulstein Design & Solutions has signed a contract with Turkey's Tersan Shipyard for two methanol-fuelled ULSTEIN SX216 Construction Service Operating Vessel (CSOV) designs. The vessels will be constructed for the Dutch company Acta Marine and will be number 3 and 4 with the TWIN X-STERN solution in the Acta Marine fleet.The SX216 vessel series has a length of 89,9m, a beam of 19,2m and accommodates up to 135 POB. Turkish Shipyard Cuts First Steel for Offshore Wind Farm Support Vessel for Dutch Owner

Turkey's Tersan Shipyard last week celebrated the steel cutting of NB1121, the second offshore wind farm support vessel being built for Acta Marine projects.The shipyard is building two DP2 construction service operation vessels (CSOV) powered with Methanol and MDO/HVO for the Dutch vessel owner. The construction of the first vessel kicked off in January.Designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS with the cooperation of Acta Marine, the two vessels are planned to serve in the offshore wind market.

Tersan Orders Parat Boilers for Arctic Freezer Trawler

Turkish shipyard Tersan has ordered a boiler package from Parat for the NB1105 Arctic Freezer Trawler, which it is building for PF Havborg from the Faroe Islands."Steam will be delivered by our MCS combined steam boiler utilizing the exhaust heat and is equipped with an MDO atomizing burner. Parat will also deliver an MVH oil-fired smoke tube boiler for hot water," Parat said.The system will be delivered with a feed water tank, water treatment, heat exchangers, hot water boiler, pumps, and surplus steam dumping system.

Kongsberg to Deliver Large Electric Winch Package for JFK Trawler

Kongsberg Maritime said it has signed a contract with Turkish shipbuilder Tersan Shipyard to equip an 86-meter stern trawler with a large winch package for Faroe Islands fishing fleet operator JFK.The package will include four EasyDRIVE electric trawl winches with SmartPΩWER Permanent Magnet (PM) motors. Corvus Supplies ESS for Nordlaks Hybrid Live Fish Carrier

Corvus Energy announced it has been selected by BMA Technology in Turkey to supply the lithium-ion battery-based energy storage system (ESS) for a new Live Fish Carrier to be built at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.This is the second vessel in a series of two for Norwegian salmon and trout producer, Nordlaks. A new crabber vessel has been delivered to JSC Arcticservice and departed Tersan Shipyard in Turkey for its journey up to Kirkenes in Norway.The newbuild M/V Zenith will be used for catching, processing and freezing king crab and snow crab in the Barents Sea. Tersan Shipyard in Turkey has signed a contract to build a new 108-meter freezer stern trawler for one of Russia's leading fishing companies. OKEANRYBFLOT's new trawler is slated for delivery in mid-2022 and will be the sister vessel to newbuild no. 1096 planned to be launched in June this year.The ST-191L design from Skipsteknisk is a 108- by 20-meter factory trawler, with accommodation for up to 150 persons on board. The vessel will be equipped with two main engines, each 4,060 kW, driving one CP propeller.

Hydro Tapped for Next Gen Coastal Cruise Ships

Hydro has been awarded contracts from Tersan Shipyard to deliver aluminum solutions for the upper sections of ships under construction for Norwegian shipowner Havila Kystruten AS.Due to be delivered at the end of 2020, the two Norwegian coastal cruise ships, Havila Capella and Havila Castor, will be identical: 124.1 meters long, 22 meters wide and able to carry 640 passengers. The ships will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and batteries.Hydro was awarded the contract by Tersan Shipyard in Turkey after reviewing lightweight alternatives to steel for the upper sections of the ships.

MAN Cryo to Supply LNG Fuel-Gas System

MAN Energy Solutions said that its marine LNG fuel-gas-system manufacturer MAN Cryo has been contracted to supply an LNG fuel-gas supply system for Norwegian shipowner, Egil Ulvan Rederi newbuild.According to MAN,  the LNG fuel-gas system will be supplied for a ‘multipurpose palletized cargo and refrigerated vessel, also known as a LoLo (Lift-on/Lift-off).The vessel is designed by Førde, Norway designer, Multi Maritime, that already counts a number of LNG-powered vessels in its portfolio. The MM85CC design will be built at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.Tersan has, over the years, also built quite a number of LNG-powered vessels and this will be the sixth such vessel since 2016 that it will outfit with a marine fuel-gas system delivered by MAN Cryo.

TMC Supplies Air Systems to Tersan Shipyard

Oslo-based TMC Compressors of the Seas (TMC) has signed a deal to deliver its energy efficient marine compressed air systems to two new cruise vessels Tersan Shipyard is building for Norwegian shipowner Havila Kystruten. TMC has not disclosed the value of its contract.
