New Patrol Vessel Delivered to Thailand

Thai shipbuilder Seacrest Marine has delivered an Incat Crowther-designed patrol boat to Thailand’s Customs Department.Launched in April 2023, the 20-meter monohull patrol vessel, Customs Boat 523, is now patrolling the oceans off the coast of Thailand. The vessel can operate at speeds of up to 35 knots with a cruising range of up to 300 nautical miles.Designed for maximum performance and efficiency, Customs Boat 523 boasts an efficient hull paired with twin-propeller propulsion, Incat Crowther said.

A pair of 24-meter catamaran patrol boats has been delivered to the Royal Thai Police. Designed by Incat Crowther and built by the Bangkok based Seacrest Marine, delivery of the vessels closes a capability gap identified by the police force. Refugees Arrive in Malaysia, Indonesia after Thai Crackdown

Malaysia detained more than a thousand Bangladeshi and Rohingya refugees, including dozens of children, police said, a day after authorities rescued hundreds stranded off the coast of Indonesia's western tip. There has been a huge increase in refugees from impoverished Bangladesh and Myanmar drifting on boats to Malaysia and Indonesia in recent days after Thailand, usually the initial destination in the region's people smuggling network, announced a crackdown on the trafficking. Thai Speedboats Collide: 18 Injured

18 South Korean tourists were injured, two critically, when two speedboats ferrying them to Pattaya's Koh Larn collided. The crash took place about 800 metres offshore from Koh Larn's Tawaen beach and 10 injured tourists were sent to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and 8 to Pattaya Memorial Hospital reports the 'Bangkok Post'. The two most seriously injured were identified as 51-year-old Myung Be Kim, whose legs were nearly severed, and 63-year-old Gihwa Song, whose leg was torn off.
