Changes in Swire Pacific's Top Deck

Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) announces a change in leadership with the appointment of a new Managing Director in Singapore. Mr Ron Mathison has taken over the helm as the new Managing Director on Monday, 21st September 2015. Mr Mathison has also been appointed as Director of John Swire & Sons (S.E. Asia) Pte Ltd, with effect from 1st August 2015. Mr Mathison embarked on his career with John Swire & Sons Limited (“Swire”) when he joined Cathay Pacific Airways in 1984 and has more than 30 years of experience within various divisions of the Swire Group. Prior to his new appointment in SPO, he was the Group Managing Director of James Finlay Ltd in UK for the last seven years. Before that, from 2004 to 2008, he was the Director of Cargo in Cathay Pacific Airways.

Swire Announces Rebranding

The China Navigation Co Ltd (CNCo) has announced plans to consolidate the majority of its liner shipping services under a new entity, Swire Shipping Ltd, a new company recently incorporated in the United Kingdom. The service framework and existing network of management offices will not be affected by this change. Indotrans, Indotrans Pacific and New Guinea Pacific Line will be retired. gradually phased out during the course of 2007. structures, and will continue to trade under their current names. Indotrans and The Bank Line, and the introduction of several new trades. Southeast Asia and Papua New Guinea with the South Pacific Islands.

CNCo Signs an Agreement with MTS

The China Navigation Co. Ltd. (CNCo), the Hong Kong based deep-sea shipping arm of John Swire & Sons Ltd, has signed a 5-year contract with Marine Transaction Services AS (MTS). The relationship between CNCo and MTS goes back to 2003 when CNCo engaged MTS as its e-commerce provider. Implementation of the MTS e-business solution was comprehensive but very successful. All elements related to streamlining the business processes and workflows and strengthening business relationships were part of the implementation in order to meet the expectations of taking cost out of the supply chain. This is a key focus for MTS. Martin Cresswell, Director and General Manager Fleet of CNCo says: “I am very pleased with MTS and the results achieved so far. CNCo will continue to use MTS.”
