Japan's Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), Ltd. said Monday that the first of Japan's first two LNG-fueled ferries, the Sunflower Kurenai, owned by MOL and operated by its group company Ferry Sunflower entered service on January 13.The ferry serves the Osaka-Beppu route between Sunflower Ferry Terminal (Osaka Prefecture) and Beppu International Tourist Port (Oita Prefecture) as a replacement for the ferry Sunflower Ivory."Compared to earlier ferries, the new ferry offers greater transport capacity and convenience for both cargo and passenger transport.

Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), a Brazilian subsidiary of Singapore's Sembcorp Marine, has completed the construction of the P-71 FPSO, integrating topsides on the China-built hull.The new FPSO vessel left the EJA shipyard on Tuesday. It will be deployed at Petrobras' ultra-deepwater Itapu field in Brazil’s Santos Basin. When operational, the P-71 will produce up to 150,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).The P-71 measures 316m by 54m and can store 1.6 million barrels. Dutch/German grid operator TenneT said Monday that the 900 MW offshore substation platform DolWin kappa had sailed away from the Dragados Offshore shipyard in Cádiz, Spain. Japanese FPSO leasing company MODEC said Wednesday that the FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32 had started its navigation towards Brazil last Sunday. The FPSO is bound for deployment at Petrobras' Búzios deepwater oil field.The FPSO left the Cosco shipyard in China on Sunday, July 17. Lack of Signalman Led to Bulker Crane’s Contact with Grain Facility - NTSB

The absence of a dedicated signalman likely led to a bulk carrier’s crane striking a grain facility in Convent, La., in 2020, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) found.The contact occurred on November 11, while the bulk vessel GH Storm Cat was completing corn loading operations at the Zen-Noh Grain Corporation facility with its number 1 crane boom. The vessel’s crew was removing a payloader from the number 1 cargo hold, which had been filled. A Zen-Noh Grain Corporation employee attached the crane hook to the payloader and then walked out of view of the crane operator.

Teekay's Petrojarl Banff FPSO completed its final voyage on May 8, 2021, and is now moored alongside the Modern American Recycling Services Europe A/S (MARS) quayside in Frederikshavn, Denmark in preparation for recycling.The decommissioned FPSO, which ceased production in the U.K. North Sea in 2020, had been moored at Kishorn Port on the northwest coast of Scotland since September 2020.
