First Online Sale for Damen Anchor & Chain Factory

Damen Anchor & Chain Factory (AKF), in the Port of Rotterdam, informs it has completed its first online order transaction. Much of the Damen product range has had an online enquiry option for some time, though AKF is relatively new to the concept. And with Damen’s online presence growing constantly, there is a strong potential for future web-based commercial growth, the company said. Theo Kloosterman, AKF Manager, explains how the order was swiftly brought to fruition. “It started on February, Friday 13 – a lucky day,” he quipped.

Damen: Contracts, Deliveries and Expansion

In the past weeks, Damen Marine Components (DMC) and Damen Anchor & Chain Factory (AKF), both part of Damen Shipyards Group, reported successes in their respective lines of business. DMC has completed several projects for the offshore, ports, defense and fishing markets, and is expanding its business and facilities in Poland. It also acquired a new ISO certificate. AKF expands its ready available stock anchors. AKF reported the arrival of the first shipment of additional stock size HYT-12 and HYD-14 anchors in June.

On Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Director André Hollander and Sales Manager Theo Kloosterman proudly announced the first ship repair order of Damen Ship Repair Brest (France) by sounding the bell in the traditional way.
