Lloyd’s Register Foundation Names Boumphrey CEO

Lloyd’s Register Foundation announced the appointment of a new CEO to take the charity into its second decade.Dr. Ruth Boumphrey will take over from outgoing CEO Professor Richard Clegg following his retirement June 30, 2022. Brown to Succeed Marsh as CEO at Lloyd's Register

LR's Board said that Nick Brown, 45, currently Marine & Offshore Director, will succeed Marsh as Group CEO and join the LR Group Board on January 1, 2021.

After 14-years at Lloyd's Register (LR), including five years as group CEO, Alastair Marsh announced that he is stepping down from his role and will retire from the Lloyd’s Register group board on December 31, 2020. LR's board said that Nick Brown, currently Marine & Offshore Director, will succeed Marsh as group CEO and join the LR group board on January 1, 2021. “Alastair is an exceptional business leader who has transformed the company during his tenure, delivering on a five-year modernization and cultural change strategy," said LR Chairman, Thomas Thune Andersen.

Dong Energy Changes Name to Orsted

Following the profound strategic transformation from black to green energy and the recent divestment of the upstream oil and gas production, the name DONG Energy does not fit the company anymore. Consequently, DONG Energy has today called an Extraordinary General Meeting to ask the shareholders of the company to approve a change of the company name to Ørsted. Thomas Thune Andersen, Chairman of the Board of Directors, says: “DONG was originally short for Danish Oil and Natural Gas. DONG Energy Listing to Value Group at up to $16 Bln

DONG Energy's has set a potential $16 billion price tag on its stock market debut, giving investors a chance to buy into the growth in offshore wind power, but also into a business heavily reliant on government subsidies. State-controlled DONG Energy on Thursday set a price range for its initial public offering at 200 Danish crowns to 255 crowns per share. This would give the group a market value of 83.5 billion to 106.5 billion Danish crowns ($12.6-16.0 billion), potentially making it the Europe's biggest IPO this year.

Norman Murray, Petrofac Chairman Quits

Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, today announces that Norman Murray, who has been Chairman since May 2011, has resigned from the Board and will step down as Chairman with immediate effect for compassionate reasons. Senior Independent Director, Rijnhard van Tets, will assume the role of Chairman with effect from today. Rijnhard was appointed as a Non-executive Director in May 2007 and became Senior Independent Director in May 2011. Lloyd’s Register has announced the appointment of Chris Finlayson, Chief Executive of BG Group plc, and Ellis Armstrong, ex-CFO of E&P at BP plc, as Non-executive Directors on the board of Lloyd’s Register Group Ltd. Lloyd’s Register Group Ltd (LR) is the wholly-owned operating group of Lloyd’s Register Foundation, a U.K. charity dedicated to supporting the advancement of engineering-related education, and funding research and development that enhances safety of life at sea, on land and in the air.

New Va. Container Terminal to Prepare Mid-Atlantic Region for Growth

APM Terminals North America Inc. announced plans to build a container terminal located on the Elizabeth River in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dredging is expected to start later this year, and construction of the terminal is expected to be completed in 2007. The facility will feature 4000 ft. (1219 meters) of deepwater berth space (four times the current amount), and serve as a Mid-Atlantic platform for future growth. Many high profile international companies have significant operations in the region and others are actively eyeing major distribution centers for the future. The amount of cargo through Hampton Roads is expected to at least double by 2020, in part due to the area’s attraction as a major distribution center.

Management Changes at A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S

As from December 1, 2007 Nils Smedegaard Andersen (CEO of Carlsberg A/S) will take up the position as Group CEO of A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S and withdraw from the Board of Directors of A.P. Moller -Maersk A/S. At the same date Jess Søderberg will resign as Group CEO of A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S. Originally Jess Søderberg was supposed to retire in 2009. With the advanced management change the Board of Directors has wished to clarify the future management relations and thus keep a constant drive in the company. By choosing Nils Smedegaard Andersen the Board also wishes to add new yet experienced capacity, which jointly with the other members of the management, will constitute a strong team to lead on A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S and create further development and higher profitability.
