IPO Expected for Italian Yacht-Maker Sanlorenzo

Italian motor yacht maker Sanlorenzo aims to list on the Milan Stock Exchange at about the same time as the rival Ferretti Group, with an initial public offering (IPO) expected to be launched as early as the second half of October, two people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.The group is controlled by Italian entrepreneur Massimo Perotti through a family holding which bought back shares from third party investors in the recent years.The group plans to issue a mix of existing and new shares, targeting a free float of about 35%, one of the sources added.Sanlorenzo has picked Unicredit, Banca Imi and Bofa Merrill Lynch as global coordinators for its IPO.

North Sea Tiffany Platform to Restart Mid-August

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd said on Thursday its Tiffany production platform in the North Sea was expected to restart in mid-August after a shutdown. On a second-quarter earnings call, CNRL Chief Executive Officer Steve Laut said international production had decreased to 25,800 barrels per day in the quarter. That was mainly due to the production shutdown at Tiffany, which accounted for 4,500 bpd. (Reporting by Nia Williams; Editing by Lisa Von Ahn)

U.S. Coast Guard Academy to Host Academic Workshop

The Center for Maritime Policy and Strategy will host an academic workshop, Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the U.S. This one-day workshop will bring together a diverse group of scholars, practitioners and stakeholders from across the country to discuss how to achieve resilient ports and marine transportation systems in an era of extreme storms, rising seas and the melting Arctic ice sheet. The workshop features two panels that highlight research currently being conducted by postdoctoral fellows at the center.

Wave Knight Helps Seize Caribbean Drugs

UK Royal Fleet Auxiliary support ship 'Wave Knight' has helped seize an estimated £6.5 million worth of drugs from traffickers in the Caribbean. In a multi-agency operation involving UK and US assets, the fishing vessel Miss Tiffany was detected and one of Wave Knight ’s boats was launched to investigate. Soon after arrival, and upon hailing the vessel, the fishing boat's crew were seen jettisoning a number of suspect packages overboard. North Sea, UK Sector, Contracts for KCS Deutag

KCA Deutag has won significant subsea drilling operation & maintenance contracts from core clients Total E&P UK, EnQuest & CNR International (CNRI). The company was awarded a contract with Total E&P UK to provide drilling operations and maintenance services on the Alwyn North and Dunbar platforms. Both contracts have already commenced and have a firm two year commitment with options for an extension of up to two years. Secondly, EnQuest has also signed a significant contract with KCA Deutag for a four year extension of its drilling operations and maintenance contract for both the Heather and Thistle platforms. Lastly, a substantial contract extension was awarded by CNRI.

Cosalt Offshore Secures CNR Contract

Cosalt Offshore has been awarded a contract with CNR International (UK) Limited. (CNR). The contract, which is for three years,comes with a two one year options and will see Cosalt Offshore provide CNR with lifting and mechanical handling support services on five  platforms – Tiffany, Ninian North, Central and South and Murchison. NOAA Buoys Deployed in the Arctic

Now traversing the Northwest Passage, the Ocean Watch crew - four professional sailors, a scientist and an educator - recently completed the deployment of three NOAA Global Drifter Program buoys. Aegean Acquires Double-Hull Tanker

Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. (NYSE:ANW) announced on Jan. 15 that it has taken delivery of the Hana, a 1992-built 1,615 dwt double-hull bunkering tanker to be renamed the Ace Hana, following the company's agreement to purchase the vessel from an unrelated third party. The Ace Hana is expected to be deployed to the company's Greek market. E. Nikolas Tavlarios, President, commented, "With the strategic acquisition of the Ace Hana, Aegean has once again strengthened its position to capitalize on the regulatory phase-out of single-hull vessels and meet the unfulfilled demand for the Company's integrated marine fuel services. Crystal Cruises' Symphony to Undergo $23m Dry Dock

Ultra-luxury cruise specialist Crystal Cruises is spending $23 million to enhance the award-winning Crystal Symphony in what will be the cruise line's largest-ever dry dock. In just two weeks, from October 31 through November 12, 2006, nearly 1,300 people will work around the clock on more than 150 separate projects to create what will essentially be a new ship, especially to those familiar with it.
