Finnish shipbuilder Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) revealed it has entered into three major supply contracts worth over €100 million ($117.4 million) in total for the main equipment of Pohjanmaa Class multi-purpose corvettes commissioned by the Finnish Defense Forces.The most crucial contracts for the supply of critical main equipment with long delivery times were signed during spring and summer in highly unusual circumstances, the shipbuilder said, adding that the coronavirus pandemic has posed significant challenges to numerous businesses…

South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries Co (SHI) said  that it has clinched a deal worth 147 billion won (US$124 million) to build two crude carriers.According to a press note from the shipbuilder, as per the deal with an un-named Panamanian shipping firm, SHI will deliver the two Suezmax tankers by March 2021.Suezmax (S-Max, Suez Canal Maximum) refers to the largest ships that are capable of transiting the Suez Canal in a fully laden condition with a capacity of 130,000 to 150,000 dwt.The newly ordered tankers are designed to meet environmental regulations as eco-friendly ship with the Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) equipped in preparation for the IMO’s regulations.In addition…

GE Industrial Solutions CEO Bob Gilligan told GE employees, distributors, and state and local politicians that ultimately, the firm’s energy management business would more than double to $13 billion annually as GE moves to recapture the lead in that market space. Gilligan also predicts that once this sea change has been completed, GE will then be earning as much as 90 percent of its revenues from the industrial side of the ledger.

These winners are recognized before, during and after the 35th annual OTC, 3-6 May, Reliant Center at Reliant Park in Houston. New Technology program, " said Rod Allan, OTC .04 Chairman. Applications for the Spotlight on New Technology were distributed at OTC .03 and were due 9 January 2004. Submissions had to meet four criteria: new and innovative, proven, broad interest, and significant impact. Spotlight on New Technology will continue as an annual recognition program coinciding with OTC.
