AAL Expands Heavy Lift Fleet
AAL Shipping has acquired two secondhand multipurpose heavy lift vessels, expanding its core fleet to 720,200 total deadweight (DWT).The 2010-built Pacific Action and 2009-built AAL Gladstone have both served in the AAL fleet in the past and are due to rejoin later this month – the former renamed this week, AAL Gibraltar. The G-Class vessels feature a total cargo intake of 35,705 cubic meters, four large cargo holds, three tweendecks and a maximum lift capacity of 240 tonnes.
Navico Names Rae Manager for Canada
Marine electronics manufacturer Navico has appointed Steve Rae to the position of Country Manager for Canada.Based in Vancouver Island, B.C., Rae will be responsible for sales, service and support for the company’s three marine electronics brands, Lowrance, Simrad and B&G. Ardent, Vernicos, EPE Partner
Ardent, Vernicos Tugs and Salvage, a Greek-based tug & salvage service provider and Environmental Protection Engineering (EPE) a Greek-based Oil Spill Response provider, have formally partnered for future operations within Eastern Mediterranean and the adjacent waters. The three companies signed a cooperation agreement on 20th March 2018 to closely work together on future opportunities and at the same time retain their own corporate identities. Jumbo Orders Second Heavy Lift Ship
Jumbo Shipping has confirmed the order for a second new K-class vessel, with an option on a third, to complement its existing fleet. After careful consideration and engineering study, Jumbo has decided to upgrade the lifting capacity of the vessels from 1,300 to 1,500mt, enabling tandem lifts of 3,000mt. These vessels will comfortably surpass the capability of other vessels in their class and reassert Jumbo's leading market position. MARIN Names Buchner President
