Scanship, Jets Join Forces to Better Serve Cruise Ships

Two of the world’s leading companies in maritime waste management have signed an agreement to join forces, in an effort to better serve cruise ship operators and yards globally. Scanship’s well-known Total Clean Ship System, which incorporates its Advanced Wastewater Purification and Waste Management solutions, will now be accompanied by Jets Vacuum’s highly acclaimed vacuum toilet system. The result is a fully integrated waste and wastewater handling package that combines the very best technologies available from the two Norwegian companies. Scanship CEO Henrik Badin and Jets Vacuum CEO Jan Tore Leikanger agree that this deal is, in a sense, like finding the missing piece of the puzzle.

Marinevac Adds New Operator in Florida

Marinevac, specialists in the cleaning of vacuum toilet systems on board private and commercial vessels of all sizes ranging from yachts to cruise ships and naval vessels, announce new links with GC Marine Inc. and Pines Marine Consulting LLC, both established businesses in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Marinevac has been operating in the Mediterranean for several years from their base in Palma, Mallorca. As part of the company’s expansion plans, Marinevac USA LLC will now be offering the Marinevac unique method of removing scale build up from marine waste systems. David Pines and Guy Clifford will be heading up the operation with the support of their local team. Marinevac USA LLC said it will be in a position to offer its new service on the U.S.

Cruise, Ferry and Naval Projects to Get Evac Systems

Scandinavian passenger ship operators have specified Evac vacuum toilet and waste treatment for their latest newbuildings from Aker Kvaerner group yards in Finland. The 33,000gt/1,800-passenger vessel ordered by Birka Line from Aker Finnyards - dubbed the ‘Floating Caribbean’ - is designed to set new standards of year-round cruising in the Baltic after delivery in autumn 2004. An extensive range of accommodation and amenities spread over eight decks of the 11-deck ship will include a whole deck dedicated to passenger recreation and a large Spa area decorated with palms.
