Hunt Valve to Equip USCG Polar Security Cutter
Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD), a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management (Arcline), announced it has been awarded a purchase order to provide motor-operated valves (MOVs) through Hunt Valve for the U.S. Coast Guard’s (USCG) Polar Sentinel (WMSP-21). Fairbanks Morse Defense Acquires Hunt Valve Company, Inc.
Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD), a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, has acquired Hunt Valve Company Inc., a specialty manufacturer of naval valves and electromechanical actuators. This acquisition expands FMD’s capabilities and service solutions for shipyard, defense, and industrial customers – including its support for and offerings to the U.S. Nuclear Navy.The transaction includes Hunt Valve, the Hunt Valve Actuator Division, MB Valve (Montreal Bronze), and Pima Valve, LLC.“Our core customers value quality, reliability, and convenience, and the addition of Hunt Valve to the Fairbanks Morse Defense brand allows us to enhance the customer experience by offering a wider range of aftermarket support services through a single vendor,” said FMD CEO George Whittier.
New Globe Valve Line from Metso
About one year ago, Metso announced a launch of a new line of Neles globe control valves, targeted in the first phase to the Asia Pacific, Chinese and Indian petrochemical, refining and oil and gas industries. Global launch is to follow in 2014. Metso is an international supplier of control valves and services. The Vortex VT22 turbine grinder features a 3HP turbine motor, making it the most powerful 5” air angle grinder available on the market today.
