Kongsberg Sensors and Equipment for Germany's New Ocean Research Vessel

Norwegian marine equipment and technology firm Kongsberg will provide scientific sensors and scientific handling equipment for Germany’s new ocean research vessel, the 135-metre Meteor IV. The new 10,000GT vessel will be able to house 35 scientists plus 36 crew. Meteor IV will be built by MeyerFassmer Spezialschiffbau (MFSB) for the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. MacGregor to Deliver Traction Winch Systems for Chinese Geological Survey Drilling Vessel

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has been selected to supply two self-contained traction winch systems for a geological survey drilling vessel in China.The vessel is owned by Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey (GMGS), a subsidiary of China’s Ministry of Natural Resources, together with HongHai Marine. HongHai Marine is MacGregor's partner in China, focusing on MacGregor deck machinery integration and service in the fishery and oceanographic markets.The order was booked into Cargotec’s 2022 second quarter order intake.

MacGregor Wins Order for 36 Traction Winch Systems

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured an order from SIA Solutions LLC to deliver 36 traction winch systems, 72 storage reel brakes and electrical control systems to the specialised concrete mat sinking unit, Armor 1, currently under construction at Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors LLC, Houma, La. for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).The order was booked into Cargotec’s 2020 fourth quarter order intake. Markey Engineers New A&R Winches for Offshore

Markey Machinery recently introduced its new line of Abandonment and Recovery (A&R) winches. Development of Markey’s A&R winches was facilitated through partnership with a world-wide service provider operating a fleet of marine vessels. The manufacturer says that the A&R machines are more cost effective in operation and maintenance requirements, thus making them ideal for oil field services such as maintenance, repair, and decommissioning. Markey’s type DEPS-76AR (see illustration) is a single drum, direct-pull type winch with level wind designed to work 3,300m of 4.75-in.
