MSG MarineServe GmbH, a  maritime training company, will act as the official ECDIS training agent for the Navico Simrad ECDIS systems. The ECDIS training will be provided by MSG and its ‘ECDIS Training Consortium’ (ETC) or by sister company Safebridge GmbH using its innovative, online simulation, E-learning courses. The courses will provide trainees with comprehensive instruction, leading to full certification upon completion, and also allow third party authorities and customers, such as Port State Control, to reference trainee database services.

Hamburg, Germany - ETC, the MSG Marine Serve GmbH operated ‘ECDIS Training Consortium,’ offers ECDIS type-specific training through local partners in order to provide a cost effective solution to its clients. The ECDIS training course ware, ECDIS training systems and approved Train-the-Trainer courses established by MSG are provided to the training partners, who are then supported with 24/7 certificate authentication and trainee database services for reference by them, by customers and by Port State Control and other concerned authorities.

ETC, the MSG MarineServe GmbH-operated ECDIS Training Consortium, announced a further expansion of its ECDIS training network through an agreement with STET Maritime in Singapore to act as its local partner. MSG will provide its well-established ECDIS training courseware, ECDIS training systems and approved Train-the-Trainer courses. In addition, MSG will provide 24/7 certificate authentication and trainee database services for reference by its Partners, Customers, Port State Control and other concerned authorities. MSG MarineServe GmbH announced that it has been appointed as official training agent by Danelec Marine to provide ECDIS training services locally and worldwide. The agreement with MSG includes ETC, MSG’s ECDIS Training Consortium, to ensure that Danelec is able to offer a complete equipment training service in support of its global customer base. The training provided by MSG and its ETC partners is configured on a single, comprehensive, training structure and methodology in order to guarantee the quality and consistency of the training, while allowing Danelec to monitor content, quality standards and recordkeeping through a single point of contact. “We are very pleased with the partnership with MSG and ETC,” said Hans Ottosen, Danelec CEO.

Hamburg – Safebridge announced that it has teamed up with Japan Radio Co. Ltd (JRC), provider of navigation systems, to develop type-specific ECDIS training for the JRC ECDIS. JRC joins a number of other ECDIS manufacturers in believing that online training is the key to meeting the huge numerical challenge set by STCW 2010. With the implementation of ECDIS as the primary means of navigation, and the now mandatory training requirements, Safebridge and JRC will provide seafarers around the globe with an effective and easy solution to train online and prepare themselves for their next assignment. MSG MarineServe GmbH contracts with Imtech Marine to cover their ECDIS training requirements worldwide.
