Texas A&M Chooses Transas

Texas State Maritime Program (TAMUG) has selected the Buffalo Computer Graphics and Transas Marine USA team for the contract to replace their existing ship simulator. The new simulator complex will consist of a Transas Navi-Trainer Professional 3000 full mission ship simulator system with integrated GMDSS communications simulation capabilities, as well as full integration with the existing BCG PCS100 five-station ARPA/Radar simulator. Using Transas Marine's combination of simulation software, dedicated hardware (real ship controls) and commercial-off-the-shelf components, the simulator will be an ideal tool in the training and certification of United States Maritime Service Cadets.

Transas Marine and VEI Form Alliance

Transas Marine (USA), Inc. of Lynwood, WA, and Valhalla Enterprises, Inc. (VEI), of Fort Lauderdale, FL, have announced a manufacturersā€™ alliance aimed at benefiting marine electronic dealers and recreational boaters. The agreement brings together VEI, a world leading manufacturer of flat panel displays and marine computers with Transas Marine, a world leader in electronic navigation products, vessel traffic systems and training solutions, marine surveillance, and simulation systems. Under the new alliance, VEI will distribute select Transas Marine navigation products to Transas Marineā€™s existing dealer network for the recreational market in the United States, the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

SUNY Maritime Selects Transas

In July of 2002, the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College awarded the Buffalo Computer Graphics / Transas Marine USA team the contract for replacement of their existing full mission ship simulator. The simulator system includes a comprehensive Instructor control, monitoring and debriefing station, along with a seven visual channel full mission main bridge simulator designed to meet DNV Class ā€˜Aā€™ navigational simulator standards. At the core of the system is Transas Marineā€™s industry leading Navi Trainer Professional simulation software with a comprehensive set of highly detailed vessel and geographic models. The bridge is designed to be flexible enough to be adapted for a number of specific marine training programs in the future and includes stimulated ARPA/Radar unitsā€¦

Transas to Provide Systems for PMI

The Pacific Maritime Institute (PMI) coast operation of the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGā€™s), has selected Transas Marine USA to provide the Navigational Simulation systems for their new simulation and training facility to be located in the heart of the Port of Seattle. The 15,000 square foot facility will include a new full mission ship simulator to DNV Class A standards with dual instructor stations, as well as secondary bridges for operating interactive exercises. Boasting a combination of the latest visual technologies, model databases, and a uniquely flexible design, the bridge simulator will provide a highly realistic training environment both inside and outside the wheelhouse.

Transas Marine Launches TRANSERV

Transas Marine USA has launched a new simulator service and development program, ā€œTRANSERVā€, with a comprehensive upgrade and support package provided to Delgado Community College in New Orleans, Louisiana. Delgado Community College become the first major marine training school in the USA to join the TRANSERV program.
