Globecomm Boosts Presence in Greece and Cyprus

Dellner Brakes Goes Global for IMX 2018

Dellner Brakes will present a global product range at this year’s Inland Marine Expo (IMX) in St Louis, bringing together power transmission products from its U.S., Swedish and German operations for the very first time.This global product offering follows on from the Swedish company’s acquisition of U.S. brake and clutch specialist Gummi USA in September 2017 and German braking manufacturer Pintsch Bubenzer in January this year.Dellner Brakes CEO, Marcus Aberg, said, “We are delighted to be exhibiting alongside our new sister company Pintsch Bubenzer for the very first time at IMX.

Dellner Acquires Pintsch Bubenzer

Sweden’s Dellner Group with its subsidiary Dellner Brakes said it has signed an agreement to acquire German industrial braking manufacturer Pintsch Bubenzer in a deal it hopes will pave the way for the companies’ global expansion. This acquisition is being carried out in partnership with investment company Active Ownership Capital and comes four months after Dellner Brakes acquired U.S. brake and clutch company Gummi USA. It is a significant step in the Swedish company’s focused ambition to become the world’s leading supplier of brakes and related power transmission products.

Dellner to Expanded Product Range to US Market

Dellner Brakes, fresh off acquiring U.S. brake and clutch specialist Gummi USA, said it will present its expanded range of power transmission products to the U.S. marine market at the International Workboat Show (IWBS) from November 29 to December 1. Since the acquisition announced in September, the enlarged business is already starting to work together under one umbrella and the company’s U.S. stock and distribution operations have been consolidated to the Dellner Brakes Gummi USA facility in Houston.

Dellner Brakes Acquires Gummi USA

Swedish-based Dellner Brakes has acquired US brake and clutch company Gummi USA to consolidate its position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of brakes and related power transmission products for the industrial, and marine markets. This acquisition, the first in Dellner Brakes’ 50 year history, will enable the company to expand its product offering worldwide and also strengthen the company’s distribution in North and South America. The enlarged company will operate under the Dellner brand with Marcus Aberg continuing at the helm as CEO.

Composite Tech Sells Turbine Business to DSME

Composite Technology Corporation (CTC) (OTCBB: CPTC) announced that it has reached agreement to sell substantially all of the operating assets and operating liabilities of DeWind Inc., including its subsidiaries and certain assets of DeWind Ltd. to Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) of Korea. Under the terms of the asset purchase agreements, the sale price is approximately $46,500,000 for substantially all of the operating assets and operating liabilities of DeWind Inc., and approximately $3,000,000 for certain assets of DeWind Ltd., subject to certain possible post-closing adjustments. The transactions are subject to customary closing conditions and are expected to close within the next 30 days.

Twin Disc Expands Marine Presence In Japan

Twin Disc is forming a majority-owned joint venture with Niigata Engineering Company, Ltd., of Tokyo, Japan. Twin Disc has had a long-standing and mutually successful relationship with Niigata Engineering. The new venture, named NICO Transmissions Co., Inc., will be an engineering and marketing company supporting Twin Disc's expanding global marine product line as well as a distribution company for NICO's family of transmission products. Twin Disc also reported that it has sold its 25% ownership position in the Niigata Converter Company to Niigata Engineering and, as a result, will realize a pre-tax gain in its fiscal third quarter ending March 31, 2001. A portion of the gain, estimated to be approximately $2.7 million, will capitalize the new venture.
