Inmarsat to Roll Out IoT Solution to More than 60 Zamil Offshore Vessels

Inmarsat, a mobile satellite communications services provider, will roll out an Internet-of-Things (IoT) solution to more than 60 of Saudi-based Zamil Offshore's vessels in the Gulf area.The solution - powered by Fleet Connect and Fleet Data delivered through Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress - will allow Zamil to identify, trial and select the best solutions to meet vessel performance expectations set by its charterer, Saudi Aramco. The news of the deal between Inmarsat and Zamil Offshore follows a successful trial on the fleet’s anchor tug, Zamil 57.

Ofgem Selects Hornsea One OFTO

UK energy regulator, the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem), has selected Diamond Transmission Partners as the preferred bidder for the offshore transmission of the 1200MW Hornsea Project One wind farm in the UK.Diamond Transmission Partners  is a consortium of Mitsubishi Corporation and Chubu Electric Power. Hornsea One is an offshore wind farm is in 120km off the Yorkshire Coast. SatPoint Expands Marine Offering

The Swedish based company SatPoint AB recently acquired NSABs (Nordic Satellite AB) multi service platform for data and telecommunications in the maritime business sector. SatPoint develops stabilized VSAT terminals and supplies associated services as well as offers the multi service platform DaMax (Demand Assigned Multiple Access) from the Swedish Space Corporations teleport in Stockholm. NSABs President & CEO comments: - In our recent agreement, SatPoint acquired our marine platform and has become service provider for NSABs customers in the shipping industry. SatPoint has proven to supply a competitive service package by their integration of advantageous financing solutions and technically advanced satellite transmission services for the shipping sector.

Telenor Expands Use of Intelsat Global Satellite Capacity

Intelsat announced that Telenor Satellite Services expanded a multi-year contract with Intelsat to include transmission services on three different spacecraft in C- and Ku-band. The capacity is being used for Telenor’s Sealink maritime high-speed data communications solution through its Eik Teleport in Norway. Through this agreement, Telenor renewed its contract on the Intelsat 903 and Intelsat 704 satellites for C-band capacity connectivity in the Atlantic Ocean Region and Indian Ocean Region respectively and in addition began using Ku-band capacity on the Intelsat 907 satellite for North Sea and Atlantic Ocean distribution.
