ABB Ability Lands Deal for Nine Heavy Lift Vessels

Foss Maritime Opens Houston Office

Foss Maritime has opened a new office and the formed a project management group aiming to support its customer base headquartered in Houston. John Tirpak of Foss has been appointed Vice President of Business Development & Contract Services and will be relocating to Houston to develop business in the region and lead the business development function of the entire Marine Transportation division from the new office. There he will oversee domestic and international business development, sales and marketing.

Two Ocean Shipping Companies to Pay $3.4M

Sea Star Line LLC and Horizon Lines LLC have agreed to resolve allegations that they violated the False Claims Act by fixing the price of government cargo transportation contracts between the continental United States and Puerto Rico, the Department of Justice announced today. Fairstar Contracts For Gorgon LNG Project

Fairstar Heavy Transport NV (FAIR) has been awarded two transportation contracts by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd and Kellogg Joint Venture - Gorgon. The contracts were signed by representatives of both companies on May 31, 2010. Under the terms of the agreements, Fairstar will provide two of its Semi Submersible Heavy Transport Vessels for the transportation of modules and related project materials from various construction sites throughout Asia, to the Gorgon Project’s LNG Plant being constructed on Barrow Island off the northwest coast of Australia. The two contracts are for a minimum term of one year per contract and can be extended at the option of Chevron and Kellogg Joint Venture for an additional four month period.
