Saudi Aramco, Total in USD1bln Pact

Saudi Aramco and Total hasve signed a joint venture agreement to develop a network of fuel and retail services in Saudi Arabia.The 50:50 JV plans to invest around $1 billion over the next six years in the Saudi fuel retail market and start providing motorists with premium fuels and retail services in the Guf kingdom.“This is a major milestone which will help establish a quality retail fuel network in the Kingdom. Derecktor’s Bridgeport Facility Signs Contract for Sister Vessel

The 350-passenger BMT Nigel Gee design low-wake catamaran is now in operation as a commuter ferry. Bermuda currently has five high speed ferries operating a year round service out of Hamilton, including the recent addition. alternative to the motor car. commuter route operating between the centrally located capital city of Hamilton and the town of St. Georges on the eastern end of the Island. This new route complements the very successful Hamilton – west end routes currently provided. of the Ministry of Tourism and Transportation, and operated under the name and logo of Sea Express. No Leg Left to Stand On -- An Obituary for MarAd?

Unless things change dramatically, I am writing as the last Deputy Administrator of the Maritime Administration (MarAd). At least the MarAd we have known, sometimes loved, but always needed for the last 50 years. As I look at the Administration's budget proposals to transfer management of the Maritime Security Program (MSP) to the Department of Defense (DOD) and eliminate funding for the Title XI shipbuilding loan guarantee program, I cannot help but conclude that MarAd's days are numbered as a freestanding federal agency. This is not simply melodramatic doom saying from a former bureaucrat whose first credo in life is perpetuation of the species (or in this case the agency).

Eight New Coastal RoRos Slated for U.S.

Maritime Transport & Logistics Advisors, LLC (MTLA) an industry consulting firm based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL has been engaged by Roadships America, Inc. to provide research and analysis of the U.S. Coastal Transport market, as well as assistance with operational considerations in the final design stages of Roadships’ new generation high speed Ro/Ro vessels. Roadships America, Inc., a Reno, NV company is owned by U.S. and foreign investors. Roadships in partnership with Aker Marine, Inc. has been developing a high speed Ro/Ro vessel, designed initially for coastal transport between Melbourne and Perth in Australia. Roadships now plans to build additional ships for use in the U.S. coastal transport trade. Roadships has been following the coastal transportation initiative of the U.S.
