APH Pushes Container on Vessel Service for St. Louis Region

Novatek Ships First LNG Cargo to China via Arctic

Maersk Line Scale Up Innovative Smart Reefers in India

In the past one year, Maersk Line, the global containerized division of the Maersk Group has enabled movement of multiple consignments of complex cargo out of India successfully, said a press release. First of Yamal LNG Tankers Starts Navigation via the NSR

The first Arc7 ice-class LNG tanker “Christophe de Margerie” has entered the Kara Sea and has started its first LNG cargo voyage through the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The subleased tanker will go through the NSR without the escort of icebreakers and will deliver LNG from Norway to South Korea in 15 days. The utilization of the route from Europe to Eastern and South-Eastern Asia through the NSR halves the transportation time to market compared to the traditional route. The start of LNG shipments through the NSR with the ARC7 ice-class tanker will help to increase cargo turnovers and develop navigation in Arctic Ocean. Currently, the navigation routes for high-tonnage ships through the NSR have already being used and tested, providing security and efficiency of navigation.

Incheon Port Emerges as Port for Government’s Stockpiles

Korea's Incheon Port is rapidly emerging as a port for government stockpile imports due to a significant increase in imports of US edible soybeans. Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced  that the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) designated Incheon Port as the exclusive port for receiving 10,000-ton container volumes through a bid announcement of the basis purchase in 2018. The volume is a 66% increase from the 6,000 tons imported via Incheon Port that aT designated as the import port when it imported a basis purchase in 2017 and a spot purchase in 2016. The import volume increased five-fold from the 2,000 tons of US edible soybeans imported by the government as its stockpile in 2015.

Reviewing the company’s financial and operating results for the first half year ended 30 June 2016, on 23 August 2016, the Executive Board of PAO Sovcomflot (“SCF Group”) noted that despite a tanker market downturn, the company was able to demonstrate strong performance and strengthen its financial position while continuing to enhance its industrial projects portfolio in accordance with its Development Strategy. * Five new vessels launched: pioneering 172,600 m3 capacity ice breaking LNG carrier (Arc7 ice class) for Yamal LNG project (January), three new Arctic shuttle tankers for Novy Port project (February, April, June), and a new ice-breaking supply vessel to serve Sakhalin 2 project (June).

Maersk Krishnapatnam Service from April 17th

Maersk starts its Krishnapatnam Service from April 17th and Kattupalli on April 19th, 2016. Both these calls are strategic and are aimed at supporting the growth of local businesses in the hinterland covering Andhra Pradesh, Northern Tamil Nadu and Eastern Karnataka. Railway Links Krishnapatnam Port to WFD

A new efficient train service commenced its first journey from Krishnapatnam Port to ICD WFD on 19th June 2015, thereby marking a new milestone on the service offerings by the port. The first rake was a full load of import laden containers belonging to the business houses in and around Bengaluru city. This weekly rail service in association with CONCOR provides the fastest transit from ICD WFD to the closest gateway port and given an impetus to the importers & exporters around Bengaluru, Hosur, Chittoor, etc. The train service has a maximum carrying capacity of 90 TEUeach way and reduces the transportation time from 24-36 hours taken by road to just 18 hours. In addition, it also helps customers to save between US$100 – US$150 on each container.

Daily Maersk Extends Promise to Indonesia, Thailand

Maersk Line is extending its total container ship transportation time promise to six more routes: from Jakarta (Indonesia) or Laem Chabang (Thailand).
