Finnlines on Wednesday held a naming ceremony in Naantali for its first of two new freight-passenger Superstar vessels, Finnsirius.The new ro-pax vessel, part of Finnlines €500-million Green Investment Program, was built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Weihai, China.“Finnsirius is Finnlines’ new eco-efficient flagship, designed specifically for the fast-paced freight transport route between Finland and Sweden. Viking Grace Returns to Service Following Refit
The 10-year-old Viking Grace returned to operate between Turku and Stockholm on February 12 as a better and climate-smarter version of itself. Baleària Caribbean has launches a new fast-transport service linking Fort Lauderdale (Florida) with the island of Bimini in the Bahamas. The German-based navigation specialist Raytheon Anschütz is now offering an integrated weather chart overlay for the Synapsis ECDIS. Taking the special needs of navigation into consideration, the layer was developed in close cooperation with meteorological experts of the German sea weather provider WetterWelt. With the new feature Raytheon Anschütz combines sea chart and weather chart in one display. All weather parameter, which are important for navigation, are presented as values or symbols on a separate layer and can be switched on and off any time.
