A&P Tyne Shipyard Awarded Sub Fabrication Contract

A&P Groups Tyne Facility informs it has recently been awarded a £3 million project from BAE Systems for the fabrication of submarine sections. A&P explains that the scope of work will involve a number of complex structures, requiring the use of build jigs to maintain the accuracy during construction. The completed structures will be shipped back to BAE Systems for combination onto existing work within their facility. A&P Tyne’s fabrication facilities are claimed to have both the heritage and expertise to deliver complex and technically challenging projects. It strives to deliver on schedule quality product at commercially attractive rates, and large scale fabrication facilities, allows the company to be ready to service the market.

UK's A&P North East Dry-docks Fully Booked to Year's End

A&P North East shipyard announces that the Subsea7 vessels 'Acergy Discovery' and 'Rockwater 1' will be dry-docked at the company's Tyne facility in November and December 2013. For the Acergy Discovery the main SOW covers thruster overhaul and general maintenance. The Rockwater 1 SOW covers thruster overhaul, lifeboat servicing, ballast repairs and deck maintenance. The shipyard adds that the continued business from Subsea7 shows that the relationship between the companies is a strong one, that they value the clients repeat business and will continue to support their operations in the future.

Aberdeen Up and Running

Since being taken-over in July by A&P Group, the drydock facility in Aberdeen has enjoyed a busy Summer period with a number of vessels undergoing repairs. The shipyard, which has been renamed River Dee Ship Repairers, has extensive workshops and craneage and is an ideal drydocking location for vessels trading in and around the UK East Coast and the North Sea. Vessels drydocked most recently include P&O North Sea Ferries 6,350 grt passenger/car ferry St. Sunniva, which arrived on 5th July for a two-day emergency docking and the 2,042 grt offshore supply vessel Smit Lloyd Fortune from Stirling Shipmanagement, which also arrived for a short emergency docking.
