Oil Removed from WWII Era Shipwreck

A U.S. Navy led team has removed 229,000 gallons of oil from a sunken World War II era German heavy cruiser that has been resting on the seafloor near the Marshall Islands for more than 70 years.After being transferred to the U.S. as a war prize, the cruiser Prinz Eugen was loaded with oil and cargo and used to assess survivability of warships during the Operation Crossroads atomic bomb tests in the Pacific. Boston Whaler Justices Support Counternarcotics Ops

The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT) has awarded a $36 million contract to Brunswick Commercial and Government Products (BCGP) to supply up to sixty 32-foot and 37-foot Boston Whaler Justice models. The boats will support U.S. Southern Command’s counternarcotics assistance program within Central America and the Caribbean to counter transnational organized criminal networks in Latin America. The boats will be supplied over a four-year period.

Maximum Technology Awarded Contract

Maximum Technology Corp., Huntsville, Ala., was awarded on July 8, 2002, a $709,084 increment as part of a $14,271,446 cost-plus-fixed-fee and level-of-effort contract for Joint Center for Technology Integration Automated Data and Software Capability. Work will be performed in Huntsville, Ala., and is expected to be completed by June 25, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via Broad Agency Announcement on April 15, 2000, and nine bids were received. The U. S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville is the contracting activity (DASG60-02-C-0071).
