Norway based dry bulk shipping company Golden Ocean Group Limited IGOGL) has announced that Ulrika Laurin and James O'Shaughnessy have been elected as new board members.Ulrika Laurin has been the Executive Chairman of ship-owning company Anglo-Atlantic Steamship Co. Ltd. and the Chairman of Laurin Shipping AB, an international ship-management company.She has served as the CFO of Anglo-Atlantic Steamship Co. Ltd. and as Commercial Manager of Laurin Maritime (UK) Ltd. Prior to that, she worked with fund manager Tufton Oceanic Ltd. and with management consultant Karlöf & Partners. Wood Group Develops Advanced Analytics Capability with CeADA
Wood Group today announced that it is collaborating with the Centre for Applied Data Analytics (CeADAR), located at University College Dublin (UCD), to launch a new data analytics capability to deliver significant savings for the energy and industrial sectors. Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will work with CeADAR to develop predictive analytics for deployment particularly in the oil and gas industry. This will initially be targeted at brownfield engineering services and will strengthen WGK's existing services in the area of measured data analysis. By tracking the integrity of system components, the service already delivers significant savings to clients through problem detection and optimization, leading to reduced inspection, intervention and maintenance costs.
New Bunker Trader at Dynamic Oil
Dynamic Oil Trading, the global trading company for marine fuels and lubricants, has announced the appointment of Jacky Yen as a new bunker trader for its Singapore bunker trading team. Educated at University College Dublin, Jacky Yen brings considerable experience of working with suppliers and buyers in the Singapore bunker market. Prior to joining Dynamic Oil Trading he worked at another marine fuel company in the Lion City for two years, where his responsibilities included bunker trading, operational liaison for fuel deliveries and acting as the point of contact with the Singapore MPA.
