MAN Energy Solutions SE announced changes to its executive board slated to take effect January 1.Dr. Gunnar Stiesch will take over the Technology department, which was previously headed by CEO Dr. Uwe Lauber in a dual role, and will join the board as the new Chief Technology Officer. Strunk Named CTO at MV Werften

Raimon Strunck (53) has been appointed as MV WERFTEN's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), taking over the newly created role on October 1. His responsibilities include project management, design, planning as well as procurement and logistics. He is a member of the senior management and reports to CEO Peter Fetten.Strunck has 24 years of professional experience in the shipbuilding industry. After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Hanover, he held various positions in the areas of project management, sales and planning, working for different shipyards in Germany and abroad.

Special Vessels “Built by Flensburger”

Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft, FSG, was founded in 1872 by a group of five local ship owners who previously had all their steamboats built in England as most German ship owners did in the 19th century. The first ship, the iron tall ship Doris Brodersen, was delivered to one of the founding partners in 1875. The cargo steamer Septima was commissioned a year later. In 1892 a floating dock, with a capacity of 2,300 tons has been built. At the turn of the year 1900, more than 2c000 employees worked at FSG.

GL Appoints New Executive Board Member

On 7th February 2003, the Supervisory Board of Germanischer Lloyd AG appointed Dr.-Ing. Hermann J. Klein (45) as a member of the Executive Board with effect from 1st September 2003. Dr. Klein will succeed Dr. tech. Hans G. Payer (64), who is to retire as of 31st December this year after over 10 years of service on the Executive Board. After completing his A-levels, Dr. University of Hanover. University of Hamburg-Harburg. Lürssen shipyard in Bremen, in 1995 Dr. Motorenwerke Bremerhaven AG, of which he is currently the Chairman. As from 1st January 2004, the Executive Board of Germanischer Lloyd will be composed of Dr.-Ing. Hermann J. Klein and Dipl.-Kfm. Rainer Schöndube.
