LM Handling Installs FPSO

LM Handling, an Acteon company, has provided handling expertise and equipment to support Acteon sister company, InterMoor, in the successful mooring installation of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit for the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) operated Enping 24-2 oilfield in the South China Sea. With LM Handling’s lifting and handling expertise and equipment, a 12-pile anchor mooring system, consisting of three clusters of four mooring lines, was installed. LM Handling provided its StabFrame-S in its extended configuration, pre-loaded with additional ballast to achieve a stable and safe install for the long mooring piles, and 84 and 60 in. internal lift tools.

Industry Professionals to Speak at ShipConstructor Conference

The speakers representing various companies at next week's SSI Americas ShipConstructor User Conference, October 7-9, 2014 in Mobile, Alabama, demonstrate SSI's philosophy of creating software solutions for the shipbuilding industry that integrate with best of breed applications, the company said. SSI executives will highlight the competitive advantages avalable with the implementation of recently released products such as EnterpisePlatform, MarineDrafting, Electrical, PipeLink, WeldManagement and PipeSupports. DSS Enters Long Term Vessel Charter

Delta SubSea LLC (DSS) signed a long term charter on DP II IMR Support vessel VOS Sympathy for international scopes of work. DSS mobilized two FMC Technologies Schilling Robotics HD 150 HP systems, complete tooling, and full survey suite provided by UTEC Survey. Bibby Makes Two Staff Appointments

Bibby Offshore’s newest division, Bibby Remote Intervention Limited (BRIL) Recently increased its workforce following the creation of two new positions. David Howe joins the firm as project director and Robin Longstaff as survey manager. The responsibilities of this role include development and delivery of the UTEC brand and business model in the Middle East region.   Ian, who was formerly with Corrintec in the U.K. and Unique Maritime Group in the UAE, brings a wealth of IMR experience to UTEC Survey JLT.

UTEC Ink Australia Subsea Survey Contract

UTEC Survey contracted by a major subsea pipelay contractor for survey work on the Great Western Flank Pipe Lay. This project encompasses pre-lay, installation support and as-built survey support on the Greater Western Flank development off the North-west coast of Australia. Pre-lay work is due to commence in late March 2013 with the major pipelay activities to follow in Q3. UTEC’s equipment and personnel will operate from a number of vessels including one of the contractor’s state-of-the-art DP pipelay vessels capable of laying 16” CRA pipe. UTEC Opens New Regional HQ in Aberdeen, Scotland

UTEC has reinforced its presence in Scotland with the opening of new regional headquarters in Aberdeen. The purpose fitted building comprises over 3000 sq. ft. of modular office accommodation and 4000 sq. ft. of workshop/warehouse space, enabling further development of the range of services available to clients at home and overseas. UTEC’s Aberdeen base provides services in the North Sea and West Africa and supports operations in the Mediterranean and North Africa in conjunction with the company’s Naples office.
