GVF, Intellian Launch Certification for Marine SatCom Operators

In response to strong demand for satellite-based maritime connectivity, Global VSAT Forum (GVF) and Intellian have launched an Intellian Specialist Certification programme, including an initial course in terminal operation, GVF 562N, specifically for seafarers. Intellian, manufacturer of stabilized communications platforms, has launched Specialist Certification programme GVF 562N for seafarers working with its marine stabilised VSAT terminals, including an initial course in terminal operation. Follow-on courses, intended for field technicians, will cover stabilized platform installation and maintenance. Intellian’s marine VSAT terminals offer global broadband coverage to vessels at sea.

Omniaccess Delivers a High-Speed 24MBPS VSAT Network

Intellian has been selected to supply VSAT communications antennas to OmniAccess S.L., a marine IT & networks systems integrator and service provider. The Intellian 60cm 3-axis Ku-band VSAT antennas have been installed on-board nineteen vessels of one of the world’s leading river cruise companies. Internet connectivity is increasingly becoming a key element in the customer satisfaction of river cruise vessels. In today’s wireless world, passengers expect to be well connected to the Internet and be able to share their holiday experiences online wherever they may be. It is thanks to this VSAT technology solution that these vessels are able to transfer an average over 300Gb of data per vessel per month.
