Van Aalst Group Launches Nortek Services AS

To provide preventive and predictive maintenance services, combined with workshop services for clients operating worldwide in the offshore oil, gas, marine and renewables industry, the Dutch Van Aalst Group recently set up Nortek Services AS in Kristiansand, Norway.According to Wijnand van Aalst, CEO of the Van Aalst Group and Safeway, the initiative to launch Nortek stems mainly from the rapid growth currently taking place at a number of Van Aalst companies. C-Job Naval Architects Appoints Gitte, Verweij

C-Job Naval Architects said that Mario Gitte has been appointed Vice President Engineering and Edward Verweij has been named Vice President Sales. Together they will be the executive management team that will run the company’s new branch office in Houston, Texas.Gitte is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and previously served as Senior Principal Engineer in the Advisory Services Group at American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Mario is a graduate from the United States Coast Guard Academy who prior to joining ABS worked at a shipyard in south Louisiana.

Kerssens Joins Van Aalst Marine & Offshore

Mario Kerssens has joined the CargoMaxx team at Van Aalst Offshore & Marine, as Manager Business Development, starting the 1st of January 2012. After serving the shipping and offshore industry for more than 20 years in senior sales, marketing and business development positions at Dockwise, Fairmount, Sealift and Fairstar, his latest role has been with FG International Holland BV, the Dutch Special Lifting company, that recently teamed up with Linjebygg Offshore from Norway under the new name LBO International. At Van Aalst his focus will be on the market development of the successfully introduced CargoMaxx handling system for combined liquid and dry bulk on board platform supply vessels, anchor handling vessels, mobile offshore drilling units and fixed platforms.

Van Aalst Brings Platform-fitted CargoMaxx to Houston

Van Aalst Marine & Offshore, inventors of the multi application tank system CargoMaxx, have opened an office in Houston, TX. CargoMaxx is swiftly gaining ground in the offshore support sector, allowing supply vessels to deliver dry cargo to a platform and carry drill cuttings to shore in the very same tanks. Van Aalst is looking to extend the concept to offshore platforms for space-saving, below deck bulk storage of drill cuttings. Two GPA 675 PSV Newbuilds for Astromaitima

In 2011, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) signed a contract with Brazilian shipyard EISA. Estaleiro Ilha for two GPA 675 PSV designed specifically to Petrobras requirements (PSV 3000). Both vessels are currently under construction at EISA for the Brazilian offshore operator Astromaritima Navegacao S/A. The vessels are outfitted with a diesel-electric propulsion system comprised of equipment by Berg Propulsion and Caterpillar. The system consists of two azimuthing drives, each rated for 2,500kW and two bow thrusters, each rated for 750kW.
