Seafast Marine Names New RSV

Seafast Marine has named its renewables service vessel (RSV) Isle of Jura at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld in The Netherlands.Isle of Jura is a newbuild vessel, constructed at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld, and is the second vessel built to a new Damen Renewables Service Vessel design.The RSV, according to Seafast Marine, is for use in the offshore and onshore wind industries. As a business based in Ross-shire in Scotland, Seafast Marine was happy to see it painted in the colors of the country’s Saint Andrew's flag.The Damen RSV 3315, evolved from the Multi Cat, is a powerful multi-purpose working vessel, designed to work in shallow as well as deeper waters. It features four azimuth thrusters, a DP2 4-point mooring system, two large cranes, hydraulic shark jaws and an AHT winch.

Bibby WaveMaster Horizon Launched

A second service operations vessel for Bibby Marine Services has been launched and christened during a ceremony at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania, the shipbuilder announced Friday.The new vessel, Bibby WaveMaster Horizon, will begin maintenance work on two EnBW and Enbridge-owned wind farms in the German North Sea – Hohe See and Albatros – for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and EnBW, upon delivery later this year.Damen said it developed the SOV 9020 vessel design through close consultation with the offshore renewables industry.

HST Orders Second Fast Crew Supplier

U.K. based High Speed Transfers (HST) has finalized an order for a second Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 2710 from Damen Shipyards Group. The contract was signed Wednesday during WindEnergy Hamburg.The vessel, to be named HST Sofia, will be HST’s second FCS 2710 since becoming the launching customer for the vessel type earlier this year.The FCS 2710 builds on the predecessor FCS 2610, but is upgraded to deliver more flexibility, more tank capacity, greater deck space, increased comfort and more accommodation.

Damen Rolls Out Fast Crew Suppliers 2710 and 1204

Damen showed two new Fast Crew Supply vessels to the world for the first time on the 3rd of July at the 2018 Seawork International Exhibition and Conference, currently underway in Southampton, UK. The FCS 2710 and FCS 1204 received their first public viewings and the naming ceremony for the FCS 2710 was also held on the opening day of the show. The FCS 2710 is the successor vessel to the highly popular FCS 2610, which has sold over 40 vessels worldwide over the past seven years. Damen Debuts New Fast Crew Supplier Vessel

Damen Shipyards Group has introduced a new model to its Fast Crew Supplier range: the FCS 2710, which builds on the FCS 2610 first introduced in 2011.The first FCS 2710 vessel is already in build at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem for delivery in July 2018. The FCS 2710 retains the twin hull, axe bow design. However, as the offshore energy industry has evolved in recent years so has its requirements for crew transfer vessels and the regulations that govern them. Damen has listened to the feedback and designed a vessel that retains much of the fundamental design of the 2610, but delivers the additional capacity and performance sought by operators today.“The 2610 really was the first vessel of its kind.

Damen Stan Pontoons to Support London’s ‘Super Sewer’ Construction

The Ferrovial Agroman Laing O'Rourke joint venture (FLO) has taken delivery of two Damen Stan Pontoons. FLO will deploy the vessels – a SPo 7120 and a SPo 4113 – for marine infrastructure construction duties on the Thames Tideway Tunnel project in London. The joint venture company has also chartered a smaller SPo 3011 for a period of one year. Considered to be one of the most important civil engineering projects currently under construction, the Thames Tideway Tunnel represents the modernization of London’s subterranean sewage system.

New Damen Workboat for Bristol Port

The Bristol Port Company has taken delivery of a Damen Shoalbuster 2308S. Modified with several customized options, the vessel will be able to take on a multifunctional role that includes plough dredging, towing, pilotage and survey duties. This is the first contract between Damen and the Bristol Port Company. Construction of the new 23-meter-long Shoalbuster took place at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld, in the Netherlands. During the handover ceremony on March 17, the vessel was officially named Graham Robertson.

Damen Delivers Tug to Foyle Port

Damen Shipyards Group has delivered an ASD 2310 Tug to Foyle Port. The official handover of the new vessel – named Strathfoyle – took place at a short ceremony attended by the port’s staff, clients and stakeholders. Taking the position as most powerful tug at the port, the Strathfoyle marks a commitment to ongoing safe and efficient harbor assistance operations at Foyle Port. Foyle Port is in the North West of Ireland. Located at the south-west end of Lough Foyle, the port’s primary cargos are bulk goods arriving at the Lisahally Terminal and oil products that call at the LSS Oil Terminal.

Damen Expands Rix Sea Shuttle Offshore Fleet

U.K.-based Rix Sea Shuttle will shortly take delivery of their first ever Damen vessel – a Fast Crew Supplier 2610 – to support its growing involvement in the offshore crew transfer market. The new vessel, the Rix Lion, is due for delivery on July 4, six weeks after the contract was signed. “Our yards in Singapore and Vietnam build the FCS 2610 as a stock model,” said Damen Sales Manager United Kingdom & Ireland Arjen van Elk. “As such, we can offer our clients very fast delivery times.” This particular vessel was constructed at Damen Shipyards Singapore.

Damen Crew Supplier for Sure Wind

The first of two Damen Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers has officially been handed over to British company Sure Wind. A specialist in the German offshore wind market, Sure Wind already has work for the two newbuild FCS 2610 vessels. The first vessel Sure Star will head straight to Esbjerg and will then be deployed in the German market. A second sister vessel, Sure Swift will be delivered end-February. Established in 2009, Sure Wind now has 10 dedicated wind farm service and crew transfer vessels but this is the first time the company has ordered a Damen vessel.

Maritime Craft Services Orders Three More

Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd has ordered three more Damen Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers just months after taking delivery of its first FCS 2610 catamarans. Based in Largs, Ayrshire (UK), MCS signed for three Twin Axes in November. The vessels will be delivered in the first quarter 2013. With more than 30 years of experience, the Scottish firm operates a 16-strong fleet of tugs and workboats internationally and already has several Damen vessels including Multi Cats, Shoalbusters and Dredge Helpers.
