HES Hartel Tank Terminal Handed Over

The 1.3 Million cbm HES Hartel Tank Terminal, a project of HES International, has been completed on schedule.The HHTT Consortium, comprising Van Hattum and Blankevoort (Koninklijke VolkerWessels), Mobilis (TBI) and Boskalis Nederland, has handed over the construction site to its client, the Port of Rotterdam Authority. This contract involved a total amount of over EUR 100 million.The HHTT Consortium started constructing this challenging project on Maasvlakte in December 2017.The project comprises the construction of a 1,200-metre-long deep-sea quay wall and the connection of the new quay to the existing quay, a quay wall over a length of 1,000 metres for five inland vessels, complete with shore power, and a 350-metre jetty with four berths.

HES Hartel Tank Terminal on Track

The consortium Boskalis, Van Hattum en Blankevoort and Mobilis is constructing a deep-sea quay, inland navigation quay and jetty for the new HES Hartel Tank Terminal on the Hartelstrook (Maasvlakte 1), on behalf of Port of Rotterdam Authority.To enable the tank terminal to accommodate large oil tankers and inland vessels, the consortium is constructing a 1,200-metre quay wall for sea-going vessels, an 1,100-metre quay wall and a 350-metre jetty with four berths for inland vessels, as well as the necessary bank and seabed protection."Port of Rotterdam Authority started its part of the work in January 2018. The 600 mixed-in-place piles are now in place and the reinforcement work and concrete placements of the quay walls are in full swing.

Boskalis to Work on Markermeer Dikes

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has emerged as the best submitter of the tender to reinforce over 33 kilometers of dike around the Markermeer lake between the towns of Hoorn and Durgerdam, the Netherlands. This was announced by the Hollands Noorderkwartier district water board (HHNK). The project will be structured according to an alliance contract form under which HHNK and Boskalis with its partners will work together to design and construct the reinforcements to ensure the safety of the Markermeer dikes for the next 50 years. In the coming months Boskalis and its partners will collaborate with HHNK on a follow-up study commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. The actual contract award is expected mid-December.

Boscalis to Get IJsseldelta 'Room for the River' Contract

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) say that the Dutch Department of Public Works and the province of Overijssel intends to award the contract for the IJsseldelta polder to them. The project is part of the national 'Room for the River' program, which consists of more than 30 measures aimed at providing better flood protection for areas close to the country's rivers. The project will involve lowering the summer bed of the Lower IJssel river along a length of 7.5 kilometers near the town of Kampen and creating a bypass to the south of Kampen. The work will be executed in conjunction with Van Hattum and Blankevoort in the Isala Delta construction consortium. Initial preparations will take place in the fall of 2014 with the project scheduled for completion by the end of 2019.

Boskalis Wins Dutch 'Room for the River' Contract

Royal Boskalis Westminster has been awarded a contract by the Vallei en Veluwe district water board for the construction of the Veessen-Wapenveld high-water channel in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. The project is one of the more than 30 measures that make up the Dutch national Room for the River program, which is aimed at providing better flood protection for areas close to the country's rivers. The work, which will be executed in conjunction with Van Hattum en Blankevoort in the IJsselweide construction consortium, is scheduled to start after the summer.
