Furetank to Sell Two Dual-fuel Tankers to Neste

Furetank Rederi AB said it has signed an agreement to sell two 17,999 dwt dual-fuel product tankers Fure Valö and Fure Ven to the Finnish company Neste, a producer of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel. The vessels will be delivered in October and December 2023, when the first of the seven new-buildings already ordered by Furetank and partners are scheduled to be delivered from the shipyard in Yangzhou."It is good news for us that we can continue to advance our environmental efforts and develop new vessels.

New LNG Bunker Barge Planned for Port of Tacoma

Puget LNG and GAC Bunker Fuels have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) marine fuel from Puget LNG’s terminal to GAC’s customers in the Pacific Northwest.When the Tacoma LNG Terminal becomes operational in the second quarter of 2021, it will be the first such terminal on North America’s west coast providing direct shoreside loading access for a bunker barge.GAC Bunker Fuels, a division of the Dubai-based GAC Group, will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Jones Act-compliant LNG bunker barge to be constructed…

Rotterdam Polymer Hub Pact with Port for Logistics Node

The Port of Rotterdam Authority and Rotterdam Polymer Hub (RPH) signed an allocation agreement regarding a site for two halls for the storage and distribution of polymers.RPH will be the first logistics node in the Rotterdam port area to focus exclusively on the storage of polymers. The project is a joint initiative of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Euro-Rhine Group and entrepreneur Geert Van De Ven.The two halls, with a combined floor area of 35,000 m² (storage capacity 550,000 tonnes) will be erected at Maasvlakte. Maersk Sells Ven Drilling Barges

Danish shipping conglomerate A.P. Moller-Maersk said on Tuesday its offshore oil and gas drilling unit has sold its Venezuelan barge activities. Maersk Drilling said on its website its Venezuelan barge business represents a "minor part" of its activities. It comprises of a fleet of 10 barges on management contracts on Lake Maracaibo. Latest version of the SurvitecZodiac MIS MES escape slide & liferaft system is fitted to the new ferry 'Uraniborg'. The Uraniborg, owned by Ventrafiken, was recently completed at the Hvide Sande shipyard in Denmark and has just entered service between Landskrona and the island of Ven located in the Oresund between Sweden and Denmark. Basic design by Danish naval architects of new double-ended ferry delivered by Hvide Sande Skibs- og Baadbyggeri Shipyard for Swedish route. The shipyard recently delivered the 50m ferry named Uraniborg to Swedish domestic ferry company Ven-Trafiken for service between Landskrona in Sweden and the Swedish island Hven in the Øresund. The vessel has been designed as a double-end passenger ferry to carry trucks, cars and bicycles. The main deck is arranged for easy access for pedestrians and bicycles, and the vessel can carry up to 394 passengers and up to 14 cars or 2 trailers and 7 cars.

Danish Naval Architecture Firm Knud E. Hansen A/S behind the Basic Design of new Double end ferry delivered by Hvide Sande Skibs- og Baadbyggeri. Ven-Trafiken chooses Carus

Another island ferry operator has chosen Carus as supplier for their booking and ticketing systems. After a thorough evaluation, Ven-Trafiken concluded that Carus offered the best solution in terms of skills, experience, cost and quality. Ven-Trafiken is going through a major business upgrade which includes a new ferry, a new terminal in Landskrona and the renewal and modernization of their systems. Carus will deliver its CarRes reservation system for booking and ticketing which will include systems to enable ticket sales and control even on board the ferries.
