New Directors Appointed at BMT

Hansa Shipping Equips Four New Vessels With CleanBallast®

Bremen – After careful comparison and in-depth analysis, German owner Hansa Shipping and Chinese shipyard Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding have decided to equip four new 4,800 TEU vessels with the German ballast water treatment technology CleanBallast® by RWO, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies. The plants will be delivered during the course of 2012. “We have picked RWO knowing that we are dealing with a sensitive and important task for the Future,” said Dejan Golub, Superintendent of Hansa Shipping GmbH & CO KG.

Japanese Shipyard Orders CleanBallast

RWO Marine Water Technology, a part of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, has received an order for three of its ballast water treatment systems CleanBallast from the Japanese shipyard Sumitomo Heavy Industries Marine & Engineering Co. Final Approval for CleanBallast

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has granted the Final Approval of Active Substances to RWO’s ballast water treatment system CleanBallast and thereby noted that the CleanBallast system is safe for the crew, ship and environment. Bremen-based RWO Marine Water Technology is a supplier of systems for water and wastewater treatment aboard ships and offshore rigs. The company is part of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, a subsidiary of Veolia Water, the leading builder of treatment plants and supplier of technical solutions for water treatment.
