​Guthrie to Direct KVH Initiatives in Asia-Pacific Region

KVH Industries, Inc. announced that Mark Guthrie has been named KVH’s vice president for the Asia-Pacific region.Guthrie will oversee all KVH activities in this area, which is of vital importance in the mobile connectivity market. Mobile tech innovator KVH provides connectivity solutions for the maritime market, including global mini-VSAT Broadbands services used by thousands of vessels worldwide.Guthrie joined KVH in 2013, and has held a variety of roles, most recently serving as vice president for global channel management.

KVH Industries, Inc., announced today that Mr. Mark Guthrie has joined the company as Vice President, Global Mobile Broadband Sales to manage the continuing development of the mini-VSAT Broadband network and related products and services. Mr. Guthrie started his telecom career at telecommunications and satellite communications company British Telecom (BT) in the U.K. before joining Europe Star where he was responsible for European sales and marketing strategies. Maritime Telecommunications Network to Provide Services to Thales

Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc. (MTN), a Verestar company, was awarded a contract by Thales GeoSolutions to become its provider of global telecommunications capabilities. MTN, the leader in maritime communications, entered into a three-month agreement to provide telecommunications services onboard the specialist cable survey vessel, the Baruna Jaya III. Thales GeoSolutions specializes in services and products for the offshore oil and gas, telecommunications, power and marine civil engineering industries. Thales offers a comprehensive range of integrated environmental management and monitoring services, including water quality studies and ocean current measurements.

MTN Enters The World

Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN), a Verestar company, has signed a three-year contract with ResidenSea to become the exclusive telecommunications provider for its new vessel, The World, the first resort community at sea that continuously runs around the globe. MTN was awarded the competitive contract in collaboration with Norwegian agent, General Industry Systems, located in Stavanger, Norway. Specialists in providing communications facilities for all maritime vessels as well as the cruise line industry using total global satellite services, MTN will install its Digital Ship Earth Station (DSES) onboard The World within the next few months.

MTN to Deploy Network Equipment and Software on Norwegian Cruise Line Ships

PCTEL, Inc. confirmed that it is providing its wireless access hardware and software products to the cruise line industry through its commercial agreement with Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN). MTN Separately announced its successful deployment of the PCTEL Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) products. MTN, a provider of maritime communications deployed PCTEL's WLAN Network Gateway, Roaming Client and Installation Wizard software products on the Norwegian Sun, a vessel in the Norwegian Cruise Line. MTN has plans to deploy PCTEL's wireless access solutions on other cruise ships in the near future. Passengers may now bring their personal laptops onboard the Norwegian Sun and use a wireless connection to the Internet.

MTN Signs Agreement With NCL

Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN), a Verestar company, announced that they have signed a 3-year agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line Limited(NCL) to be the telecommunications provider for the Norwegian Star. MTN, the leader in maritime communications, provides communications facilities for the cruise line industry and maritime vessels by using total global satellite services including C-Band Global Satellite Service, KU-Band.
