DNV GL Wins Baltic Pipe Project
The international oil & gas advisory and classification society DNV GL has won a major contract to provide independent verification services for the Danish transmission system operator Energinetâs section of the Baltic Pipe project, offshore Denmark.The Baltic Pipe project aims to enable the transport of gas from Norway from a tie-in to the existing Europipe II in the Danish North Sea to the export facility in Zealand. The pipeline in the Baltic Sea towards Poland is not included in the contract. Bahri Ship Management Complies with EU MRV
Bahri Ship Management, one of the six business units within transportation and logistics company Bahri, said it is in compliance with the submission of EU MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) plans for the full fleet, ahead of the deadline. ABS to Provide Verification Services for Offshore Wind Farm
ABS Group Ltd. has received a contract to provide third-party certification and design verification services for Hexicon AB for the planned Dounreay Tri Floating Offshore Wind Farm demonstrator project in Scotland. The Dounreay Tri Project, expected to be operational in 2018, is being developed by Hexicon and its partners to pilot a novel floating foundation design for offshore wind. When completed, the project will consist of two wind turbines, up to 6 MW each, mounted on Hexicon's platform that will be located offshore northern Scotland. According to Hexicon, the platforms allow wind turbines to be deployed efficiently in remote areas where winds are stronger and more stable and the platforms are not limited by water depth.

EU MRV - First verification companies accredited by UKAS
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) has announced which companies will be able to provide verification services to shipowners as part of EU MRV Regulation 757/2015. The EU Monitoring, Reporting and Verification regulation, which came into force in 2015, requires ships above 5000gt to monitor and report their carbon emissions for all voyages to and from EU member states. Shipping companies operating in EU waters are required to submit data on their emissions The accredited bodies, announced this week, will verify data provided by companies operating in EU waters as from January 1 2018. According to UKAS further applicant certification bodies are in the process of achieving accreditation and will be announced soon.
IRClass Accredited for EU MRV Services from RvA
Classification society Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has been accredited for EU MRV Monitoring Reporting and Verification services by Raad voor Accreditatie (RvA). RvA is an internationally reputed, Netherlands based EU notified body for accrediting an organisation as âIndependent Verifierâ as per ISO 14065 and applicable EU regulation 2015/757. The EU regulation 2015/757 requires ships of above 5,000 GT, visiting EU ports and while in EU ports to monitor and report their CO2 emissions, fuel consumption and transport work.

DNV GL Wins Verification Work for Wintershall
DNV GL has been awarded a 5 year contract to provide in-service verification work for Wintershall Noordzee B.V.âs (WINZ) RAVN and A6-A platforms. The two platforms based in the North Sea are the unmanned RAVN in the Danish sector and manned A6-A in the German sector. RAVN is the first field in Denmark that Wintershall Noordzee will transition to the production phase as operator. The A6-A platform is undergoing a major overhaul, with WINZ extending it to include an oil processing plant alongside the current gas condensate facilities. DNV GLâs scope of work will cover the Independent Verification of Management of Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements (SECEâs).
