First Carrousel Rave Tug Delivered to Novatug

Multratug 32, the first new CARROUSEL RAVE TUG (CRT) was delivered to its owner, Novatug B.V. of the Netherlands in February 2018. Multraship B.V. of the Netherlands will be the operator of the new CRT. Multraship and Novatug both belong to the Muller Maritime Group, that has been active in all types of towing operations for over 100 years. The design features the RAVE tug concept, jointly developed by Robert Allan Ltd. and Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG, featuring VSP drives arranged inline on the hull centerline, combined with Novatug’s patented Carrousel Towing System on the main deck. The CRT Carrousel towing system was developed by Novatug in cooperation with Multraship as the groups harbour towage operator. Novatug also cooperated with Machinefabriek Luyt B.V.

First Carrousel-RAVE Tug Under Construction in Hamburg

Construction of the first Carrousel-RAVE tug has begun at Theodor Buschmann Shipyard in Hamburg. This novel design features the Robert Allan Ltd. and Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG developed RAVE propulsion with drives arranged inline along the centreline of the hull, and the Novatug patented Carrousel Towing System installed on the main deck. This unique combination of propulsion and towing arrangements results in inherently safer towing and escort operations, with enhanced maneuvrability for operations in confined waterways and other generally tight spaces.

Voith Turbo CEO Reinhardt Resigns

Carsten J. Reinhardt, President and CEO of Voith Turbo and member of the Corporate Management Board of Voith GmbH, has resigned Tuesday in order to pursue other interests, the company announced. Dr. Uwe Knotzer will become the new Chairman of the Board of Management of Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG and member of the Corporate Board of Management of Voith GmbH with immediate effect Dr. Knotzer has been on the Board of Management of Voith Paper since 2012, where he is in charge of the Products & Services business line.

Carsten J. Reinhardt Becomes Member of the Corporate Board of Management of Voith GmbH and President and CEO of Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG. Heidenheim, Germany June 14, 2012 – This is to announce the appointment of Carsten J. Reinhardt as Member of the Corporate Board of Management of Voith GmbH and as President and CEO of Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG. As of July 1, 2012, Reinhardt will succeed Dr. Hubert Lienhard who had held this function since January 1, 2012 in addition to his office as President and CEO of the Corporate Board of Management of Voith GmbH.

Matthias Grawe to Head Business Division Industry

Matthias Grawe  took over at the helm of the Division Industry at Voith Turbo on March 1. The graduate engineer has been working for Voith Turbo for ten years, most recently as Head of the Product Group Variable-Speed Drives at the location Crailsheim. After studying process technology at Stuttgart University, followed by a study course in energy management at Grenoble University, Grawe gained international experience in a number of renowned companies. Voith Turbo Acquires AIR

Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG has acquired the share majority in AIR Fertigung-Technologie GmbH & Co. KG based in Hohen-Luckow near Rostock. Voith Turbo has been participating in AIR, an enterprise founded in 1993 by employees of Rostock University, since 2005. With the beginning of the new business year 2007/2008, Voith Turbo has intensified its involvement in AIR, which is worldwide renowned for innovative drive solutions. AIR currently employs approximately 35 people. The core business of the future Voith Turbo AIR GmbH & Co. KG will remain unchanged after Voith Turbo's acquisition of the majority shareholding; namely the development and production of innovative ship drives on CFK-basis.
