Högberg Named President of Volvo Penta North America

Volvo Penta has named Fredrik Högberg president of Volvo Penta North America, replacing Tony Kelleher who has served as acting president since December 2021.A new member of Volvo Penta's executive management group, Högberg will take up the position on May 15. Kelleher will continue his position as head of customer support and training in North America.Högberg joined the Volvo Group in 1994 and has held a broad range of leading positions within the group, including areas such as digital services, retail development, and aftermarket sales.

Mellquist Tapped as Next President at Volvo Penta

Heléne Mellquist has been appointed as President Volvo Penta and new member of Volvo Group Management. She will replace Björn Ingemanson, who is retiring. Mellquist, born in 1964, currently holds the position as President for the European Division at Volvo Trucks. Her career at the Volvo Group began in 1988 and she has held many senior positions at the company. She has also held the position as CEO at TransAtlantic 2012-2015. Mellquist will join Volvo Penta on July 1, 2020 and take up her new position on September 1, 2020.

DFDS, Volvo Pact on Autonomous Transport

The ferry and logistics company DFDS has entered into a collaboration with Volvo Trucks concerning their electric, connected and autonomous vehicle Vera.The Danish international shipping and logistics company said in a press release that the aim is to develop and test an integrated solution for transporting goods from a logistics centre to a port terminal in Gothenburg, Sweden, using Vera.The collaboration will implement Vera in a real application, enabling a connected system for a continuous flow of goods, from a DFDS logistics centre to an APM terminal in the port, for distribution across the world.In 2018, Volvo Trucks presented its first electric, connected and autonomous solution, designed for repetitive assignments in logistics centres, factories and ports.

Ingemanson New President of Volvo Penta

Björn Ingemanson, 53, has been appointed new President of Volvo Penta. Ingemanson is currently President of Volvo Trucks’ International Division and will assume his new position on April 1, 2012, when he will succeed the current President Göran Gummeson, who will retire next year. Ingemanson has a long history at the Volvo Group and his past positions include CFO of Volvo Trucks and European head of the Group’s customer financing company, Volvo Financial Services. Volvo Penta’s current President Göran Gummeson, who turns 65 in February, will remain as President until March 31, 2012.
