TMS and NAVTOR Sign MoU

The environmental products and services firm Total Marine Solutions (TMS) and NAVTOR are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), allowing for the integration of Ocean Guardian’s environmental rules into NAVTOR’s voyage planning software.It will also allow NAVTOR to offer Ocean Guardian’s environmental planning tool as a stand-alone system, said a press release.Developed by TMS, Ocean Guardian is a digital tool that provides shipboard operators with immediate access to environmental regulations around the world.Ocean Guardian removes the guesswork from environmental compliance, providing operators with immediate and accurate information on environmental regulations pertaining to a specific location.

Nautisk, MarineMTS to Provide ENC Auto-Updates

Global maritime software solutions provider Nautisk has announced that it is working with MarineMTS to provide automatic ENC updates to vessels sailing with ECDIS. Marine MTS will provide both the hardware and the protocols needed to access the ECDIS with Nautisk providing the content and software. The new system will be available for the customer’s own ECDIS system and will harmonize with NaviPlanner, Nautisk’s new voyage planning software which will launch later this month at Norshipping. “Our products and services are truly unique, based on a solid foundation of testing and development. Transas integrates Shipping Guides Port Data

Transas Marine has teamed up with Shipping Guides Ltd (UK) to incorporate port data within the Transas Navi-Planner 4000. Having detailed information on ports is essential to fully plan a port call, and adding port data became a logical step in development of this market-leading voyage planning software. Transas Marine has teamed up with Shipping Guides Ltd (UK) to incorporate port data within the Transas Navi-Planner 4000. The Navi-Planner Port overlay displays port information for viewing on a chart panel or in tabular format. Port data can be ordered and updated directly through Navi-Planner to assist passage planning to all ports on your route. The port database locates more than 9,000 ports, harbors, terminals and marine facilities around the world. Through incorporating the information within the Navi-Planner Transas customers have vital access to over 70 port information categories tailored to assist in the planning of a port call, as well as a variety of port entry requirements.

Transas Installs ECDIS Simulators at Romanian University

Transas Marine has installed the ECDIS simulator class at the Constanța Maritime University (CMU), one of the first maritime schools in Romania to launch simulator-based courses to train bridge watchkeeping officers and other personnel in safe and efficient use of ECDIS in full compliance with the STCW 2010. The newly installed simulator is based on the Transas Navi-Sailor ECDIS Multifunction Display MFD 4000 with inbuilt Navi-Planner voyage planning software, both fully compliant with the latest performance standards for shipborne navigation equipment.

Transas Adds Paper Chart Functions to Navi-Planner 4000

Navi-Planner 4000 has been known for electronic charts, publications and other data management for several years. Recognizing the fact that a lot of shipping companies continue using paper charts, Transas has added a new functionality to its voyage planning software providing one tool for both, electronic and paper charts management to its customers. Users can import complete vessel's inventory or manually select paper charts held onboard. Navi-Planner 4000 then connects directly to the Transas chart server ashore to gather all outstanding Notices to Mariners within a few seconds.

Transas Adds Piracy Information Overlay

Transas Marine has added a Piracy Information Overlay (PIO) to its Navigation product portfolio. The piracy overlay is integrated into the Transas FleetView Online SSAS-tracking software and Navi-Planner 4000 voyage planning software. The piracy data is provided by Bergen Risk Solutions and is based on intelligence from several recognized and authoritative sources on sea piracy. The service allows users to overlay piracy information onto existing data and provides them with up to date information, essential for planning avoidance measures when transiting a potential piracy area.

Weather Data Integrated for Transas FleetView Online

Transas Marine announced that it has integrated MeteoGroup weather data in its FleetView Online SSAS-tracking software. With this integration Transas will have one global weather data supplier across the company’s navigation product range. Utilization of weather service from the MeteoGroup in the FleetView Online (FVO) is a key advantage to Transas customers, the company said. FleetView Online weather interface provides current and five-day forecasted weather data over the entire chart folio, displaying sea conditions such as wind, waves and swell, current and other weather elements.

Transas Provides ECDIS for Nonprofit Vessel

Transas Marine will supply and install its Navi-Sailor ECDIS Multifunction Display for the nonprofit GBA Ships e.V.’s service vessel Logos Hope, a deal in part financed by donation from the Transas Marine. GBA Ships is a private, nonprofit entity registered in Germany, which operates ships that sail around the world to bring knowledge, help and hope. GBA pioneered the concept of using ships to transport literature, humanitarian aid and people resources. The company's history goes back to 1970 when the first ship Logos was launched.
