Sperry Marine Receives Type Approval for VDR

Sperry Marine won multiple type approvals from classification societies and national authorities for the VoyageMaster Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) system. Sperry Marine Receives New Orders For VDRs

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Sperry Marine business unit announced that it has received recent orders for 10 VoyageMaster Voyage Data Recorders (VDR). Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The VoyageMaster system meets the International Maritime Organization (IMO) carriage requirements for VDRs and is fully type approved. LMS Completes First VDR Installation With Memory Capsule

Northrop Grumman to Test SVDRs

The U.S. Coast Guard has certified Northrop Grumman Corporation as an authorized annual service provider for shipboard voyage data recorders (VDRs). The certification was awarded to Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit, a leading supplier of VDR systems for commercial shipping fleets worldwide. Sperry Marine Releases New VDR

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Sperry Marine business unit has released its new Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) Communication Manager software as part of the iFleet suite of optional enhancements for the VoyageMaster VDR system. The VDR Communication Manager permits the VoyageMaster system to transmit packets of telemetry data from ship-to-shore via a communication link. It is designed to work with a variety of satellite services, including Inmarsat-A, Inmarsat-B, Inmarsat-C, Inmarsat-M, Fleet 77 and Fleet 55. To aid in fleet management, shoreside personnel can have automated daily reports -- on the hour, if required -- on data recorded by the VDR, including navigational location and heading, hull stress, bilge levels, tankage, engine status, watertight doors and other shipboard data.
