Support Vessel Delivered to Oceaneering

Oceaneering International announced Monday that it has taken delivery of a newbuild subsea construction support vessel, Ocean Evolution, built by BAE Systems in the US.The US-flagged, Jones Act-compliant multi-service vessel (MSV) has completed sea trials and received all necessary ABS and U.S. Coast Guard certifications and is currently in Port Fourchon, La., completing final outfitting and preparing for project work scheduled to begin in June.Oceaneering said the vessel is designed…

Fugro’s dynamically positioned multi-purpose drilling, well intervention and geotechnical vessel, Fugro Synergy, will showcase her capabilities on a multi well intervention campaign which recently started in the Gulf of Mexico. The campaign involves utilization of a top tensioned 6 5/8” riser and coiled tubing, and fieldwork for the contract is being undertaken jointly by the Cross Group Inc and Fugro, to employ the MODU (mobile offshore drilling unit). Siem Offshore in New Offshore Well Intervention Vessels Deal

Siem Offshore Inc. say they have signed agreements with Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. to provide 2 well-intervention vessels which will be owned by Siem Offshore and chartered by Helix for an initial period of 7 years, with options that can extend the charter periods up to 22 years. The two vessels will be constructed at the Flensburger shipyard in Germany for Siem Offshore, and will be based on a design developed by Salt Ship Design. Aker Completes Well-intervention Services Business Sale

Aker Solutions says it has completed the sale of its well-intervention services business area to EQT, a Swedish private equity fund. The unit was sold for an enterprise value of NOK 4 billion and the agreement includes an earn-out provision where Aker Solutions will receive 25 percent of any internal rate of return exceeding 12 percent a year on EQT's equity investment. Aker Solutions Awarded Agreement with Statoil

Aker Solutions has been awarded a four-year frame agreement from Statoil for delivering wireline tractor services on the Norwegian continental shelf. The frame agreement is valid for four (4) years from 2013 to 2017, with two additional two-year options (2+2). Aker Solutions will deliver well intervention services using its proprietary wireline tractor technology and wireline tractor application tools. Aker Solutions to Deliver Offshore Wireline Tractor Services

Aker Solutions wins a Statoil four-year frame agreement to supply wireline tractor services on the Norwegian continental shelf. The wireline tractor can push well intervention equipment several kilometres along highly deviated and horizontal wells. It has eliminated the need for more heavily equipped and costly well conveyance methods, thereby significantly reducing both operational costs and HSE risk. BSEE: Unannounced Spill Drill to Test Subsea Containment Response

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) has completed the first unannounced oil spill drill since the reorganization of the former Minerals Management Service was completed on Oct. 1. The table-top drill, which took place last week, was led jointly by BSEE in conjunction with the U.S. Coast Guard and the State of Louisiana and tested Stone Energy Corporation’s ability to assess a subsea well control situation and mobilize the proper subsea containment/intervention equipment in a timely manner. BOEMRE Holds Unannounced Spill Drill

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) announced today that the bureau has completed the first unannounced spill drill to test the new requirements of sub-sea containment capabilities for deepwater wells. Led by BOEMRE, the table-top drill, which took place last week, was a joint exercise with the U.S. Coast Guard, the State of Louisiana, and Petrobras America, Inc. The preliminary results of the drill were positive; a final evaluation will follow when analysis of all documentation is completed. “We are using many diverse methods, techniques and tools to ensure that oil and gas operations on the Outer Continental Shelf are being conducted in the safest and most environmentally-responsible manner,” said BOEMRE Director Michael R. Bromwich.
