Stolt-Nielsen Limited announced Jens F. Grüner-Hegge has been appointed as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective from April 2, 2018. Grüner-Hegge, who has served as Vice President, Corporate Finance since 2007, succeeds longtime CFO Jan Chr. Engelhardtsen, who will retire from his executive role and has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the company’s board of directors. With the addition of Engelhardtsen as a director, the SNL Board now has seven members, four of which are independent.

Panama to Transform its Role with Canal Expansion

Knowledge@Wharton, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania journal, says that the transformation Panama Canal expansion project will bring to Panama’s domestic economy and society have been largely overshadowed by the historic expansion. With the opening of the long-awaited Panama project this June, all eyes are on the impact the $5.25 billion engineering marvel will have on maritime traffic across the vital international lanes that link the Pacific, the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. The expansion has already bolstered Panama’s efforts to become the Singapore – or perhaps Dubai – of Central America. It also promises to help to transform the role that Panama is playing for many U.S. and other foreign firms that are doing business in Central and South America.

Røkke is CEO of Akastor ASA

Bleavins Named CFO at Port of LA

The Port of Los Angeles has appointed Marla Bleavins as its Chief Financial Officer. Bleavins will oversee the port’s financial affairs, which include accounting, financial management, debt and treasury, risk management and audit functions. She will manage approximately 60 employees and report to Molly Campbell, Deputy Executive Director of Finance and Administration. Bleavins replaces Karl Pan, who retired last week after 11 years with the City of Los Angeles, including the last six years at the port.

Additionally, Richard Jung, who currently assistant vice president of sales, central region, has been appointed to assume the duties of vice president of sales in replacing Dennis Sheehan, vice president of sales, who has decided to leave MOL (America) Inc. to pursue other opportunities.

Cuccias to Succeed Edenzon as Ingalls President

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced today that Irwin F. Edenzon will retire on Dec. 1, 2014. Edenzon is currently corporate vice president and president of Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries. Although Edenzon will not officially retire until December 2014, he will step down as president on March 31, 2014, and the HII Board of Directors has elected Brian Cuccias to succeed Edenzon in the position of corporate vice president and president of Ingalls Shipbuilding, effective April 1, 2014.

Horizon Lines Expands Board of Directors

Board to expand to eleven from eight; seven New Board Members Join Four Existing Directors; Four Directors Retire. Horizon Lines, a domestic ocean shipping company, today announced that it will expand its Board of Directors to 11 members from eight, effective November 25, 2011. In conjunction with the expansion, seven new directors will be appointed and four of the existing eight directors will retire. • Jeffrey A. Brodsky, Kurt M. Cellar, Carol B. Transocean Appoints Rob Shaw

Transocean Ltd. has appointed Rob Shaw to serve as Vice President, Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, effective December 1, 2011. Until Shaw assumes this position, Robert L. Herrin, Jr. will serve as interim Vice President and Controller and Ricardo H. Rosa, the company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will serve as interim Principal Accounting Officer. Herrin has served as the company’s Vice President of Internal Audit since 2007, but will not act in that capacity during the period that he serves as interim Vice President and Controller. Shaw, age 48, has served as Vice President and Treasurer since joining the company in July 2010. Previously, Shaw served as Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury at Air Liquide, based in Paris France.
