Vallur Appointed Group Vendor Manager, GAC’s Oil & Gas
GAC has reinforced its long-term commitment to the oil & gas industry with the addition of a Group Vendor Manager to its dedicated Oil & Gas team. Based at the Corporate HQ in Jebel Ali, Dubai, Madhu Vallur, oversees third party suppliers and agents GAC works with to support the sector. He is responsible for vetting appointment of freight forwarders, air & ocean charter brokers, specialist equipment suppliers and oil & gas procurement experts to meet the diverse needs of oil & gas companies around the world. He is also charged with ensuring that all appointees meet the same high standards of quality, safety and compliance that are strictly applied to GAC operations worldwide as well as overseeing procurement and supply chains and supporting news GAC oil & gas start-ups.
Crowley Receives Heavy-Lift Deck Barge in Singapore
Crowley Maritime Corporation’s solutions group announced today that it has received the first two of potentially four, new heavy-lift, ballastable deck barges (HDBs) for use by clients in the Asia-Pacific region. These new barges, which will be contracted and managed from the company’s recently opened Singapore office, allow Crowley to better support regional customers in the oil and gas mining; Engineering, Construction and Procurement Management (ECPM); and Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPIC) industries who are increasingly embarking on large-scale onshore and offshore projects. These new 400-foot-long, 120-foot-wide (122 meter x 36.5 meter) HDBs, named HDB 01 and HDB 02 are moored in Batam, Indonesia.

Crowley Maritime Corp. says it has opened a full-service project management and logistics solutions office in Singapore under the leadership of industry veteran William Hill. William Hill, PMP, has relocated from Crowley’s Anchorage office to Singapore where he has assumed the position of director, business development, and will manage the project support office.
